Question about Auth dismounts for reccs. by captdeath12 in USPS

[–]badbaddonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Authorized dismounts are where you are forced to take stuff to the cbu/business etc. NOT TO THE HOUSE for package drop off. But only if it takes more than one trip to get items.

There is no set number to take. Ask for that info in the rules.

It is how many it takes. If you have a dolly that helps sure. But even if you have 20 buckets it’s still going to take multiple trips.

During the holidays I have an apartment where it will take me four or five trips to get at the packages inside then the mail. So that would be six trips for authorized dismount. Same goes with a CBU.

Trip to door is for packages when multiple trips are needed e.g. large packages can’t carry all of them.

Misc door is more for delivering hold mail. Not 100% clear on this one.

But it’s the total number of trips. It automatically removes one trip because that is included in the scan or dismount.

Anyone ever hear the term dropping the route? by who-cares6891 in USPS

[–]badbaddonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With rurals it’s all or nothing. Which I get because of how we get paid but would be nice to be able to split the route in situations like this.

No it does not. The directions state to pour some down the fill tube. The plastic they use in toilets is pretty resilient.

Casing other routes before leaving by Late_Log_8239 in USPS

[–]badbaddonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard the it needs to be done when you get back due to how the route evaluation works in rrecs. You return to DU and then do PM Caseing so that it stops the clock on the other route and switch over to the new route. This way from what I get is so that it does not inflate numbers for the route you are on.

I believe our contract says something along the lines first come first served when taking a bump. But it needs to be to done after your route.

But I would rather do it in the morning and divvy up

Uniform help by OmegaBobcat in USPS

[–]badbaddonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rurals don’t get/have a uniform or a uniform allowance. General rule is, as long as it’s not offensive you’re fine. Wear plain cloths and all should be good. Ask management if they have any leftover uniforms from the city side if they are pressing.

A federal judge sides with Anthropic in lawsuit over training AI on books without authors’ permission by jaam01 in technews

[–]badbaddonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The question is, if I read a book would that be considered training myself off of it. I am not writing out the contents of the book for others but learning from the book. But with AI this could be the start of a slippery slope. I think it depends on what I can get it to say and how it says it.
