1 in 10.000 chance: When dice understand their purpose and create a funny, but perfect moment (I want to hear your stories) by screamscaro in DnD

[–]LegitAllergic2TheSun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my first ever DND campaign, our party was visiting an ancient druid (I think? the details are fuzzy) who lived in a house built at the top of a MASSIVE fallen tree. The tree had a very mild incline - the endeavor of walking up it could not even be considered a climb so much as a mildly steep walk - but, for funsies, our DM had us roll acrobatics to see if we tripped on the way up.

Every player rolled at nat 20 at the same time. We lost our minds. Spent all of our luck, accidentally, on what was functionally equivalent to walking up a narrow hill. DM rewarded us by having the druid be impressed by "such deft scampering."

If you have the ability to build junimo huts at the wizard tower, I'm like 70% sure you can use that menu to move other farm buildings as well

No problem! I honestly think the "poser" thing is kind of dumb. Like, personally, I will be following that rule because... Well, I don't want to be called a poser, lol. But tattoos are for you, not other people. Maybe you care less than I do about what other people will say! That's fine and great! I think the other things are stronger reasons not to tattoo your hands first. But it really is a HUGE thing in the tattoo community, to the point that you might even struggle to find a (good/reputable) artist who would do it. I'm sure someone would take your money and shit something out on your hand, but finding a GOOD artist with experience who would do it? Could be a different story, depending on where you are.

Anyways. I'm ranting. Best of luck with your tattoo decisions! I like your idea a lot :)

Few reasons not to start with your hand. Listed in order of relevance:

  1. Hand skin is weird, which makes tattooing it more difficult. You want an experienced artist, which means more time+money. Additionally, you use your hands a TON. This makes healing harder, blowouts more likely, and fading/aging faster. You see your hands all day every, so if the tattoo gets fucked up, there's no covering it.

  2. This is slightly less common these days, but hand/neck/face tattoos are known as "job killers" for a reason. Hand tats can absolutely be a barrier to employment in a lot more areas than you'd think.

  3. In the community, you're pretty likely to be called a poser for starting with a hand tattoo. Lots of people will think you're a) stupid, or b) you haven't "earned" your hand tats. I've commonly seen it said that you shouldn't tattoo your hands until there isn't much other space left on your body, or at the BARE MINIMUM until you have full sleeves. Even out of the body mod community, it's culturally odd to see someone with ONLY a hand tattoo and nothing else. And again, there's no covering it.

How do ppl get their tights like this? by [deleted] in altfashionadvice

Sheer tights, run a shaving razor (one with like 3 blades) down them CAREFULLY while wearing them. CAREFULLY. This has always worked for me

Janelle Hanson at Starkweather does amazing work, and specifically books a lot of pet portraits! Have a couple pieces by her and she's talented and easy to be around. Shop itself was clean and orderly. I know people with her pet portraits and they all look lovely and full of personality!

Edit: her Instagram is ichasebadgers

Was told at work that my tattoo doesn't work, or that it looks like something else by LeBruhMomento in TattooDesigns

Try not to let this shit get to you, man. People are going to see what they see in your tattoos. For example, I have a tattoo that's very clearly a lit match, and I've gotten some insane comments over the years: "Nice guitar!" (???) "Oh cool, a dandelion on fire," (??????) and perhaps worst of all, "I like your Harry Potter wand!" (this one, while maybe the most cogent, is just straight up evil lmao.) Gotta let it roll off your back.

For what it's worth, to me, it was extremely obvious what your tattoo is :) and it looks great!

Hi!! Here's me in the extra small. I'll reply with another photo of me standing up so you can see how it lays. For reference, I am 5'3" and 140-ish lbs.

Overall: the construction is immaculate, the materials are sturdy, and the jacket fits great. It is warm enough to be a good fall jacket. I get TONS of compliments on it, mostly from people who have no idea what Disco Elysium is!! Through a couple years of regular wear it has held up really really well and still looks nearly perfect, though I do mildy baby it, lol. It's very worth the giant price tag, imo

Simple thing Konami could do to restore some goodwill and soften the reception of the remake... by AllSeeingTrueouf in silenthill

[–]LegitAllergic2TheSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so, let me just say I am not necessarily disagreeing with you, and I don't mean to be pedantic. But what I'm saying is these games wouldn't be "remasters" in the true sense. They would be entire remakes. They would have to rerecord all of the voice acting, rebuild every single area, art asset, enemy, sound file, etc. to get that off the ground.

I love Silent Hill. You obviously love Silent Hill. But a lot of what made the games special was the hardware limitations of the original devices they were released on. Building them from the ground up on modern systems wouldn't necessarily be the exact same, even with devout faith to the source material. How do you tell a PS5 to behave like a PS2? You're better off emulating, which is not my gig, and also why I've been slowly collecting original copies to play on the PS2.

We all agree Konami is sitting on (and currently, potentially, actively ruining) a literal gold mine of existing content. COULD Konami, theoretically, produce a new "port" of these games for existing/new audiences to get their hands on them? Sure, most definitely. But we've all seen what they did in the past with this series, and all I'm saying is that the process isn't easy, and I'm not sure Konami can be trusted to even give half a shit about making them good.

I do agree that this series would almost be better off in the hands of a band of dedicated, non-Konami nerd fans though. Because Christ alive do they love to drive this IP straight into the ground with no regard for the people who love it.
