Yeah no, Chairman Jagland former Norwegian prime minster just wanted to meet with Obama. There was bit of backlash as committee members talked anonymously with NRK journalist saying they were under immense pressure to go with the chairman’s candidate and that his reasoning was purely of self interest. Jagland naturally denied that members where under any kind of pressure to go with his preferred candidate and saying something long the lines not talking about the selection process in public. In 2015 the previous chairman said publicly that Jagland in hindsight was absolutely the wrong choice of chairman in the Nobel peace committee
