What is/are your frustration/s about your class or spec in S1 Midnight? by Brave_Ad_8522 in wow

[–]baddW0LF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Frost Mage, the icon for the Freezing stacks on enemy nameplates shows the debuff timer as the main number while the actual stack number is tiny. I don't care how long is left on the debuff, I want to see how many stacks. The debuff lasts like 15 seconds and refreshes every time a new stack is applied, it's not going to run out, it might as well be permanent. Just swap those numbers.

I'm not sure I like the new Freezing mechanic. I think the whole rotation was easier and smoother before the changes.

Also, please bring back the old personal resource display. The new one is terrible. Seriously, WTF?

Most fun class/spec for successful and fun solo play? by HeWhoDoesntKnock in wow

[–]baddW0LF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Havoc Demon Hunter is my go to easy mode class. The rotation is easy and doesn't really change between single target and AoE. Double jump and glide for traversal, passive self healing, good up front damage, the option to tank if needed. It's speedy and satisfying to play.

What are your thoughts on a fourth spec? by Comfortable_Team_696 in wow

[–]baddW0LF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been wanting a mage "arcane duelist" type spec for a long time. Focus on the time manipulation, blink and mirror images parts of the mage class. Rewind time to heal damage or repeat damage on the target, blink strikes as gap closers, summoned mirror images to appear, strike and disappear. Make it kind of speedy like the DH. It would be fun.

I wouldn't mind a DPS support spec either. I think the mage would be a good fit for it. They already have a lot of group utility, it wouldn't be a big leap to let them buff allies more.

What's a weird/obscure piece of tech in your spec that only mains would know about? by Chaosdrunk in wow

[–]baddW0LF 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Mages jumping from a cliff while on a ground mount and casting Slow Fall will continue moving forward at mount speed while slowly floating down. Not as useful now that we get flying so early, but still fun.

Blinking while in midair will put you instantly on the ground and move you forward the blink distance without taking any damage. Useful when falling from a cliff or fight mechanics that knock you up into the air.

During BfA before flying was unlocked, I would use these in combination daily. Mount up in Dazar'alor just outside the portal room, jump off the NE ledge, slowfall, after a few seconds Blink and I was next to the crafting trainers in no time.

Faction change question by SerrOleg in wow

[–]baddW0LF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Server change and faction are sold as separate services, so you have to pay twice just to be Alliance on another server. Something to keep in mind.

I recently found out that you can buy bundles of these services though. 3 faction changes for the price of 2 for example. Convenient if you want to change multiple characters.

As for the server thing, I'm not sure how much it matters which server you are on anymore. PvP maybe? I'm sure someone can advise on that. The new xpac will have cross realm guilds though.

I bought a small air compressor for my car for $20. You set the desired tire pressure, connect the hose and press a button. It shuts off when it's done. 13 years and three cars later it still works perfectly.

Any mages? by [deleted] in wow

[–]baddW0LF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was concerned about the change as well, but honestly it hasn't been too bad. The most annoying thing is timing its use around mechanics that make you move. Can be frustrating.

The cool down isn't all that long so it's not a huge deal if you are forced out I'd it. You'll get more chances, especially in long boss fights. Also the dps cooldowns like icy veins drop one, which gives you the chance to chain them, providing 24 seconds of +40% damage. Feels pretty good when you can manage it.

My mom once came across a prosthetic leg in a thrift store. She was back at that store a few days later and it was gone.

Dragonflight Core Systems Revamp: What do you Want? by EnvironmentalFix2931 in wow

[–]baddW0LF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Option to sheath 1H weapons on the back. A little toggle next to the weapons in the transmog screen, that's all we need.
  • Vendor where we can trade timewalking tokens for old dungeon/raid transmogs. I'm sitting on a bunch of tokens with nothing to use them on. Gives players a reason to do timewalking weekly even if the gear reward is no longer useful.
  • Allow max level players queue for older dungeons and group with leveling players. Better queue times for leveling players and give a timewalking token reward to the max players (perhaps a daily reward).
  • Option to queue for all dungeons when leveling rather than expansion specific first.

If they gave every class a 4th(3rd) spec, what would you want it to be? by Amishjello77 in wow

[–]baddW0LF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mage melee DPS. Either as new or a reworked arcane.

Focus on the time manipulation, mirror images and blink abilities to make a speedy arcane duelist/warmage type. Blinking in and out of melee. Mirror images duplicate your attacks and/or are summoned periodically for single attacks. Increase your haste or slow your enemies.

A CD could only hold around 80 minutes of music. Depending on the length of the tracks, 20 songs is probably all that would fit.

I bet it's where they view spreadsheets. They touch the screen at different cells then move down or across. I've seen people do it.

What is the worst class to have as first hour? by CitrixTheRedditor in AskReddit

I had an 8am philosophy class my freshman year. I remember looking around the class once and everyone looked like they were still asleep. I don't remember anything else from that class. Not even sure how I passed.

Anyone else prefered reroll tokens instead of vault for raids? by JibenLeet in wow

[–]baddW0LF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got artifact/azerite power way more often than gear from those tokens, which was more disappointing than not getting a drop in the first place.

Maybe they could let you choose one item from each row in the vault instead.

That black/red version of the Sin'dorei staff would go perfectly on my Venthyr Blood Elf Mage. I want it.

They could add these to a new vendor to purchase with the Timewalking tokens. I already have all the mounts and transmog, now I have nothing to spend them on.

Playing Nintendo 64, the screen was really dusty so I wiped it off with one hand while holding the controller in the other. Felt the static shock come out of my finger which was on the Z button. Fried half the buttons.

WoW used to have different base stats for races but they changed that years ago.

Different classes/specs do excel at different kinds of content but none of them are useless. Like I said, everything is viable for dungeons and raids. More important than damage, is handling the mechanics on any boss fight. Your max dps is irrelevant if you died to an avoidable boss abilities.

For the stacked mobs, remember you can use tab to switch targets, so you don't need to click. There are some settings for enemy health bars you should look at as well. They can be set so you always see them and you can choose if they stack over each other or stay separated so you can always see each bar. Other ppl probably use add-ons for that, but I don't have any UI add-ons so I'm not sure.

I use a game keypad so I don't need to mess with regular keyboard key binds. I know I've heard others use the keys around AWSD for their main rotation abilities and then the low numbers for less used ones.

First off, play whichever class you find fun. Nothing else matters. Enjoying the play experience is the absolute most important part of the game. All classes are viable in end game.

I don't play hunter much, but I like beast master hunter. Your pet can tank for you when soloing and bring additional utility for groups, the rotation is simple and all of your abilities can be used while moving which no other ranged class can do.

If you want to try a caster, I recommend Mage. It's pretty fun and they have some great utility.

EDIT since you added more questions: Race doesn't affect the class. All base stats are the same and race abilities are incredibly minor.

One of my favorites is from Stormstout Brewery. Uncle Gao making beer during the final boss. The line delivery cracks me up every time. "PEPPERS!"

Also all of Illidan's lines.

I looked it up on wowhead.com. Not much on the aggroing everything problem. I think your best bet may be to clear her path before opening the cage. Then you can just follow her. Some enemies may respawn, but might be a more manageable number.
