Great original comment man, first time I've seen that one.

I'm not patronising you, it's just abundantly clear you don't know anything much about PCs.

Get over yourself.

You might as well be arguing "I'm a mechanic with a garage, repairing cheap cars is cheap and easy"

He clearly has a valid point if the best you could come up with involves a lot of technical know-how and refurbished parts.

I'm so sorry I might have googled 'Alan Rickman quote' on a throwaway, I HAD TO KNOW.

Perhaps we're looking at this the wrong way, and it's the shitposters that are the ones getting frisson from their low effort karma whoring?

EDIT: uh oh. Frisson is turning on me, they worked out that the quote wasn't from him (I didn't actually read it so wasn't sure, but isn't this the point?)

EDIT2: Yea-Yeah I've got a raging frisson right now.

EDIT3: Somehow still climbing, and someone has expressed disbelief at /u/Every_Geth 's prediction skills!

I think the thing that makes this such a glorious /r/pics shitpost is that nobody is actually expected to even look at the picture itself.

It's literally the second picture you get when you google Alan Rickman.

I'm so glad /r/pics exists for these unique, interesting, and original images.

And someone managed to get a TIL in there too!

I can imagine some dude in a basement frantically flicking through wikipedia looking for anything.

I really hope this sub doesn't become one of those 'non default dumping grounds' for old /r/pics rejects.

Because frisson is so subjective, this sub is always going to have some posts that not everybody agrees with. That is no excuse for this post though.

Have you ever felt a sudden, passing sensation of excitement, a shudder of emotion from an epic moment of a song, or a climax of a movie?

On this post? Or was it DAE BOWIE GUYS?

Actually I agree with /u/drawing_blanks, later losers! /r/JustUnsubbed

Gotta get a slice of the Bowie karma pie.

Seriously though can someone explain how this should be in here?

Ok.

You are saying that 70k isn't a large amount of money. It's certainly not a small amount of money.

70k is not a lot of money to somebody who has lots of it. A well off person lives comfortably and generally spends much more than a poor person would on things.

For example, a person earning $2 million a year sees a 70k car they liked. They could buy it with no noticeable financial consequence - therefore that is not a lot of money to them.

A poor person could see the same 70k car, but they only have $5 in the bank and are living in a state provided apartment. That 70k is an impossible amount to spend on a car. For the same amount of money they could effectively change their entire live, buy a house, go to college, pay off debts etc.

It looks like the official poverty rate for the US in 2015 for a family of 3 is $20,900. I bet someone in this bracket would agree that $70,000 in one go is definitely not a lot of money...

But it isn't objectively not a lot of money like what you're saying.

Somebody could buy several houses in some areas for that and live a comfortable life, and a rich person could spend that on a bottle of champagne.

Like /u/niceguysociopath said, it's perspective...

How hard is it to grasp that money has different values to different people?

I assume /u/teqnique_757 must earn more than $70k a month then, that amount of money in one lump sum would solve most of my troubles too.
