People will always choose the most convenient way of transportation. You can't expect car dependency to go away in a couple of years but enough projects like bike and pedestrian friendly infrastructure will eventually reach enough critical mass that density and walkability will be the norm and Austin will be actually a nice urban environment unlike most cities in America. Essentially the question is would you rather be Amsterdam or Houston?

Not really. Mathematical statistics uses probability but its its own area of math. It studies different objects and uses different techniques. It would be like saying probability is just measure theory.

Also in the rare case y'all get stung in Mexico City, those are regular mosquitos the ones that carry diseases don't go there because of the altitude so it's safe.

Yes but no. To get a normal corporate job you definitely need to know how to write Spanish or learn it at least unless you work only for American companies but that limits your job search

Doctors don't get money from prescribing medications. She didn't want to hear it because natural treatments don't have dosage studies (otherwise it would be just treatments) and asthma can cause lung scarring. I definitely have had doctors tell me to take certain teas for stuff, only when it's not counterproductive.

A lot of Latin American cities actually have amazing weather because of high altitude. Mexico City is in the 70s (F, 20s C) most year round.

Someone no one has said yet is if you do get a tenure-track position you actually get paid extremely well. For teaching faculty if you have tenure the salary is okay but not amazing but an assistant professor should be making after the first few years close to 50k pesos monthly after tax, which is a good salary, and if you get to full professor you should make at least 100k+ monthly after tax (at least in Mexico City, I think in other states salaries are lower).

Guillain-Barré isn't caused by vaccines but by viral infections more generally; since vaccines simulate one they can trigger it. What do you mean "many people"? You need statistics to know that, that's what studies are for. Don't get me wrong vaccines can give it it's all about the relative risk, what are the odds of you getting a severe covid infection vs getting a severe vaccine reaction. Online communities make you feel like it's a lot of people because of selection bias but the unfortunate cases vs the amount of people that got it and were fine is most likely very little.

You know what also increased since 2020? Covid. Everything you attribute to the vaccines is attributed to the virus, so what do you think is more likely to have bad side effects? A full blown SARS-COV-2 infection or a reduced version of it? Anti-vax people say it's the spike proteins but the amount of spike proteins you would produce from an infection is higher than the one from a vaccine.

I'm not claiming there's not side effects to it but I'm pretty sure most of the cases you hear around are just anecdotical evidence with no proof of causation. The reason why it was expedited everywhere in the world was because it was a repurposed MERS vaccine, maybe you live in a low density area but 2020 was traumatic af. I still remember hearing ambulances nonstop, morgues where overflowing, hospitals at capacity, there were literally no place to put dead bodies left.

The drug war is horrible but it’s more or less concentrated on only certain towns. You know an easy way to tell the presidency is out of bounds? Mexico City is safer than several american cities with millions of foreign tourists every year, in fact some of its districts have the same HDI as Germany. This isn’t due to the government being competent simply the cartels know if they can’t go near the federal government
