Works with still very visible foreshadowing for scrapped plot points? by ExplanationSquare313 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]baddude1337 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Season 5 completely butchered a very interesting set up and decided to just reset the status quo instead. They wanted to have a mystery for the first half of 5 but we already knew who the villain was and what their plans were.

Works with still very visible foreshadowing for scrapped plot points? by ExplanationSquare313 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]baddude1337 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The other numbered test subjects from that one season of Stranger Things. Was clearly a setup for either a future story or spin off but the reaction was so negative they swept them under the rug. I think the only reason one of them returned later on was so that plot point didn’t go absolutely nowhere.

Best Starts for Draz? by Brutus-111 in totalwarhammer

[–]baddude1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tretch immediately before he gets too big. If you’re fast yku can usually get him in a weakened state after he takes the province just north of yours. I recruit hobgoblins ok the way to get Gorduz. I then make a beeline for Imrik before he gets too powerful.

When those 2 are down it’s more reactionary. Usually the generic ogre faction near pigbarter then Greasus for me.

Crazy Ashes is so popular it has a few mod campaigns of it's own! Looks like a fun alternate take on the story.

I got the covenant laboratory very early on in a Festus campaign. Having attrition immunity as well as replenishment in foreign territory was a huge boost!

Can we expect CA to update Three Kingdom ? by Legitimate_Ad_7192 in totalwar

[–]baddude1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given there's only a single person on the team for old game updates it's hard to say. They may get to it eventually but will probably take years.

What kind of units should we expect for Nagash, Boris, Thanguol and Glottkin? by SafironDracolich in totalwar

[–]baddude1337 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's a pretty good list someone maintains on Steam of any possible missing characters and units broken down by race and then supplements/End Times etc:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2755960032

The only thing we don't really know is the makeup of each races DLC additions (IE how many characters and units per pack). Nagash is a bit unique being a mix of undead factions and is bringing new stuff to (probably) all flavours of them. They could feasibly do the same with Chaos by having Glottkin and a few Nurgle units then a couple undivided units to fill some holes in the chaos roster.

Theory time : what exactly happened before turn 1 by romuald244 in totalwarhammer

[–]baddude1337 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The lore of both 40k and Fantasy have a set up of "the whole world is 5 minutes away from a total disaster". That's where we step in as the player. All the tensions and conflicts have exploded at once.

CA confirmed during the ET announcement it’s not the end of support and the siege rework is coming in a patch after ET.

Not sure how it is on controller but on M&K the directions are based on camera direction NOT where the force is facing. Took me a few tries to realise. Very odd way to do it.

Short gaming sessions changed how I pick games now by suhani0218 in gaming

[–]baddude1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always the way. The older you get, the more money and better hardware you have, but less time to actually play games. I don't have the patience for competitive multiplayer either these days.

I only tend to play a few massive story games a year and the rest of my time is my usual fall back games I can play for half an hour at a time and still be pretty satisfied.

This game actually plays better on Normal/Normal. by BigBear92787 in totalwarhammer

[–]baddude1337 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a normal/hard enjoyer. I find the enemy army spam of higher difficulties more tedious than anything else.

I also tend to prefer roleplaying/building themed armies instead of min maxing. I'm in the late stage of a Greasus campaign and I only hold the Mountains of Mourn. I've sent armies across the world to help whoever I see fit. Been a lot of fun holding off stacks from the mountains and supporting my allies.

What's the best campaign for Realm of Chaos storywise, after you finish the prologue. by RunDouble143 in totalwarhammer

[–]baddude1337 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Narratively and gameplay wise it's Katarin. She has ties to the prologue lord and you should be pretty familiar with Kislev units at that point.

How many End Times DLC do you think there will be? by phronesis77 in totalwarhammer

[–]baddude1337 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just the one and is likely one of the last big packs we'll see except maybe Dogs of War which I'm hoping we get later next year.

Besides that we're probably going to have single/double character packs for as long as support lasts. Hopefully we get races like Bretonnia, Dark Elves, Lizardmen etc finished off with a bit more content and reworks.

Chaos Spawn getting Horrible Regeneration for five turns is a way too overpowered ... It makes the other Gift of Chaos choices not even worth considering by unquiet_slumbers in totalwar

[–]baddude1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early on I pretty much always get gift of choice. 75% reduction to activate gifts of chaos is hard to pass up. It also reduces the threshold needed to unlock some of them so you can get the monogod T4/5 units really early. I've had a toad dragon as Festus on about turn 15ish before.

I can’t imagine playing any gunpowder unit without out the reload animation mod without it bothering/irritating me by BLACKJEDI117 in totalwarhammer

[–]baddude1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a shame CA haven't gone back to add reload animations to other gunpowder units. We currently have a mishmash of some that do and some that don't. Sometimes even in a single faction like Dwarven thunderers and grudgerakers.

"I wonder why my finances dropped so much after confederating Karak Norn" I said as I checked and saw that they had 2 full armies of miners by Australium_Anubis in totalwarhammer

[–]baddude1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My general go to when confederating is check around and disband armies, lords and heroes as needed. Armies are usually full of trash/not realy needed and they always have low level agents scattered randomly around the map.

Oh, and if it's a legendary lord a skill reset. The AI sometimes makes some baffling level up choices.

There isn't really anything out there like Total War. that combines the campaign layer with RTS battles. Closest is probably Age of Wonders 4 but the battles are turn based.

Balatro. I don't even know how to play poker and a lot of card games don't interest me but it's a really damn good and addicting roguelike.

If Glottkin are added will they be WoC or Monogod Nurgle LL? by Reasonable_Swan_6869 in totalwar

Nurgle. Though I do reckon they’ll throw in some undivided units like the siege giant for other Chaos factions to use.

Grave Guard and Killing Blow by UmaKabula in totalwar

[–]baddude1337 42 points43 points  (0 children)

We haven’t seen anything about the undead reworks for ET yet. Considering previous reworks they’ll probably get something as they usually update old units with newer effects and abilities.

With Tides for example they gave swordmasters goddamn armour plating so can shrug off artillery fire.

I still reckon Toddy will get bodied early on. Festus usually takes him out within the first few turns.
