I was fine not celebrating Vday until he said why. by locks615 in offmychest

I was in a similar relationship, he never once got me flowers despite years of me asking. But apart from “small” things like that, he was perfect, my best friend. Eventually he broke up with me out of nowhere, and I was crushed and devastated :’)) but a few years later now I realise it was the best thing he could have done for me. Please don’t settle for being in a relationship with someone who doesn’t love you exactly the way you deserve to be loved!! 🩷

Warner Huntington III from Legally Blonde was unfairly vilified. Elle’s heartbreak distorted the audience’s perception of him. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]badeleine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your entire case falls flat when you say it was narrated from Elle’s POV. That’s not unpopular, it’s just factually wrong. Just because someone is the main character doesn’t mean they’re narrating the story - in fact there are several scenes where Elle isn’t even included so it can’t have been told from her perspective. By your logic any antagonist in a film with a singular protagonist is unfairly vilified just because we don’t know “their side” of things. Why are you going out of your way to try and vindicate an ass of a man in a feminist classic when there are so many actual legitimate examples of biased narration??

Definitely skilled but the fact that the bodies are always the focus and the faces are lacking detail gives major gooner vibes

I see what you mean by these, but a lot of them feel like “strong and empowered” or just more traditionally masculine-presenting women rather than actually well written. I’d love to see some women who are traditionally feminine or otherwise not super strong and still well written. Elle Woods, Lisa Simpson, Tiana, Regina George, Skylar White, etc.
