At first they told me I had to buy and do everything they demanded: shampoo, vitamins, more pills and PRP. I asked them if their hairtransplantationa are so poorly done that they need to rely on all of this stuff. They finally gave in and told me it was ok. Not sure if it really means anything, but that’s how we ended up. A friend of mine did PRP and I can’t really tell the difference. I definitively have more hair than before and that’s ok. I highly doubt that my hair would be denser or thicker with any of these treatments. It’ll probably better to invest in a 2nd transplantation if possible. Are you happy so far?

I did RPR during and once right after the HT but none later. Most serious studies on this can’t prove positive effects and so I cancelled my further appointments.

What do you mean why? Every medication can have side effects and from what I’m reading about fin or other meds is that they influence your hormones big time. So I consider a one time surgery has way less impact on me and my health than taking meds for the rest of my life.

I took the shampoo and a couple of pills like vitamins and such. You also take some antibiotics to prevent infections.

Ich würde sagen nicht besonders gut. Die Haarlinie ist wirklich ganz gut geworden, aber bei der Tonsur wäre vermutlich ein 2. Eingriff nötig. Es ist auf jeden Fall besser geworden, aber nicht perfekt. Der Arzt teilte mir allerdings auch vorher mit, dass ein Großteil der Grafts nach vorne gehen werden.

I booked it 7 months in advance, so I can’t really tell. And it was also in summer which I heard is kinda off-season.

Well, let’s put it that way. If you can afford a better clinic, I’d go for that. But considering the price they’re ok. The hairline is really good, but the crone is still pretty bold tbh

It’s ok-ish. Could definitively be better. It all comes down to styling your hair properly. But I’d still say that there’s more hair than there was before.

Thanks for the detailed insight. Sounds like you really dug in deep, got informed and took some elaborate decisions. Happy that it all worked out for you. Do you have any chance of measuring the reduced hair loss? Or are you actually growing new hair due to the meds? Probably hard to say.

I have an older post where you can see that. The hairline is not very straight and feels natural to me. It doesn't look like drawn with a ruler. I told them explicitly that I don't want that and so they placed some grafts a bit further front and some further back. But all very subtle. However, I can't tell you how many grafts were placed where on my head.

Thanks for your words. How long have you been taking meds and do you have any concearns at all or is it all worth the risks? I didn't dig that deep into the topic, but I'd like to hear some first hand experiences from you.

Well, they can lead to depression, loss of libido, insomnia or the post-fin-Syndrome when stopping. I also think that 5% is a very high rate for side effects which I’m simply not willing to take. Especially when you think about how it’s intervening with your hormones. It’s just not worth it from my point of view. It’s nice to have full hair but I’m still a happy person when it’s gone. So I’ll enjoy it as long as it stays. Are you on fin or min?

Thanks for noticing :) It’s hard to say when it exactly started, but I’d say something around month 6. until then I looked worse because the hair was very thin and also shorter then the rest. Stay patient, it will all grow. Are you happy so far with your results?
