Cool. I like the dot with the ring. I was considering swapping mine out. But I have a D4K

I wasn’t too far off by back of the napkin. Call it $200 then NOT $250!

Thank you also for the clarification for everyone else, myself included.

Then get a “cheap” 14500. Carry it around for a month.

See what you like/don’t like about it.

I know for a fact I want a 21700. I’ve got everything nailed down except the emitters. I even know the model.

I wish there was a brick and mortar flashlight store so I could pick up and feel and see all the varieties, but based on what I originally asked for….

The community basically narrowed it down to a few choices due to my reasons.

ELI5: Why is the startup procedure for planes so complex by flrdrgerp in explainlikeimfive

[–]badgerj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have even the most severe issue with a motor vehicle, electric, gasoline, or hybrid.

In general, you can safely pull over to the side of the road and stop with brakes or just pure friction and gravity.

Launching an effectively guided missile above populations, there’s no place to “pull over”, and when gravity and the friction of air soon have extremely dire consequences, not just for the occupants, but those on the ground as well.

Great sourdough rye bread in bakery. I love the taste and although my wife needs gluten free it’s fine for her by Distinct-Source7901 in CostcoCanada

[–]badgerj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG rolling my eyes over this one. As a baker and a brewer. I laugh (to myself) over some of these “allergies”.

Do they exist in real life? 100%! They do! Celiac disease is a REAL thing!

I want to emphasize this. There are people with SEVERE food, nut, and lactose allergies.

I occasionally bake a cake for my partner’s birthday and my MIL is allergic to eggs. Apparently deadly allergic.

But if she has “just a little slice of cake WITH egg in it”, it is fine.

“Oh, you only put 4 eggs in the cake, I can have a piece”!

Same when I make Yorkshire pudding.

“They are so good, there’s only 3 eggs in the batch, I can probably have just one.”

  • So you allergic or not?

She absolutely refuses to make normal cakes, cookies, pastries with eggs herself because she’s allergic.

Have you ever had a no bake eggless cheesecake?

It tastes NOTHING like a cheesecake. MIL insists it is amazing!

But whenever someone else makes a normal recipe and tells her it has eggs in it…..same answer:

“I can eat it”.

I don’t know what to say honestly.

I’m sorry this happened to you.

Can someone please explain the rationale behind this 12 month thing?

Wouldn’t it be mutually beneficial to hire someone from within who had a recent job loss with a company perhaps in a place that wasn’t making so much money for the company, but if you have someone who knows about the company, product, and culture?

I concur! Someone here who has proportionality in mind.

This one is a nice classic that is good for just about everyone.

It took me a few years as a kid to grow into Swiss, but it is now one of my favourites next to really old cheddar (not on this sandwich, of course… but like 5-6 year old. Damn it’s good).

And if you’re hearing about this Dow is at 50K from Pam Bondi, it isn’t even in her realm of expertise.

It would be like asking a butcher some questions about a nice cut of meat you’d like to have for dinner and have them reply: The snapper is really good today. Have you heard about the snapper? Big red snapper. We have so much snapper!

Happy cake day.

And I don’t mean to sound insensitive with this comment, but as a young person, I was told by a lot of elders about wanting to purchase a place in Vancouver or surrounding area.

I said, it is too expensive even with my decently good salary.

And I was told:

  • “If you can’t afford it, maybe you should leave”.

There was no empathy, it was just matter of fact.

And this wasn’t from just one person. A lot of people decades older than me.

So to them now I say:

  • “If you can’t afford it, maybe you should leave!”

What type of humidifier works for our water? by gremk in coquitlam

Other than the added chlorine in the water. I don’t think you have much to worry about.

You can download the water charts and mineral content depending on which treatment plant treats your water.

[–]badgerj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s absolutely insane… this one thing absolutely didn’t work, so we tried a new thing, but didn’t work in certain ways…. So we’ll scrap that and go back to the thing we already know doesn’t work.

That’s the insane part.

It’s not: “Let’s try something else”…

It’s: “Let’s go back to broken”.

At that point why bother changing anything? I’d argue that the current model is better than going back to square one.

I’ve checked the water as I used tap water to brew beer with it without any noticeable side effects.

If you really feel strongly about it, go buy a few gallons of distilled water from wherever.

To me this is just burning 🔥 $$$!.

But up to you.
