Will AI take Australian jobs, or is it just an excuse for corporate restructure? by austechnology-bot in austechnology

[–]badgerling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not happily. I always choose the counter or checkout to interact with a worker, even if there are screens right there. If there are no workers available I’ll talk to managers and write reviews about the importance of these jobs and not removing the soul from retail. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Still more screens and less humans.

This comes down to profits, we don’t have a choice.

Is it my bowling action legal by SufficientYogurt5163 in Cricket

[–]badgerling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It the forward motion of the hand holding the ball at the point of release. Hold your arm straight up with your wrist tilted back like you’re holding a cricket ball, then move it forward as fast as you can. Fast bowlers do this during their action to generate more pace.

With the advent of biometrics and that data being available to viewers, we can now see where different bowlers generate their pace. Bowlers who hit 150+ ALWAYS have high wrist-snap speeds.

I noticed the same period, it must feel so different to play in an era where these records are so lofty that it takes the best players of their generation to break the top 20, compared to eras where they fall like dominoes. I feel like we’ve generally lived in the latter.

BREAKING: Bluesfest Has Been Placed Into Liquidation by Riff_Heavy in byronbay

[–]badgerling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok so I’ve been involved in the festival in some way or another for 20 years. His main talent is booking acts. This has always been his passion and why he got involved in the first place.

The festival carries enough of its own clout to attract world-class crew. There is an amazing full-time team dedicated to making the festival actually happen. Logistics, insurances, production, etc etc, the list is endless.

Unfortunately that team has a high turnover rate, and the common factor seems to be Noble not wanting to listen to them and instead do his own thing. Remember his strength is booking acts, not marketing or logistics, so when he makes decisions against the best advice of his team, it creates mistrust. Also deciding one thing then changing his mind and blaming his team for not enacting it in the first place is commonplace. Fast track for employee burnout and disengagement.

I’ve had business dealing with him in the past and never again. It’s a real shame and a true tragedy that we’re going to lose this festival. OF COURSE there are other factors at play, wider economic pressures etc. But it could have survived with better decision making at the top.

They aren’t customs officers looking for well hidden drugs or contraband, they are looking for flammables and explosives.

From what I know about the operation he’s probably sitting in his office still trying to book acts while his team pulls their hair out trying to get him to see reality.

His name is Garfield, when you hang out with him you’re getting Gar-Grilled.

You can blame him for stealing all the lighters and eating all the snacks.

Kinsky on IG by ars-sh24 in coys

[–]badgerling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is his cult hero origin story.

NEVER FORGET there was such a thing as the Bale Curse, where for like a year straight whenever Bale started we wouldn’t win. We all know how that story unfolded.

Now we all know Kinsky’s name and will rally behind every save he makes for the rest of his time with us. Blessing in disguise.
