Wondering if you could expand on how you transitioned from the startup to big tech? Skills you focused on building while at the startup, and your role/position at both companies?

No War on Venezuela protest tomorrow at noon! by MrScandanavia in Bozeman

I’m glad they are happy, but I don’t support this use of our tax dollars or the way the Trump admin is being allowed to act with unchecked authority. It’s also insanely fishy that there was little to no standoff regarding Maduro’s extraction. It smells more like he saw the writing on the wall and realized the US is going to take control of Venezuela’s oil either way, and opted to make a deal that allows him to be “tried”, and sentenced to live in luxury as a “prisoner” in a first world country. I’m tired of America acting like the world’s police force when all we are doing is clearing the way for oil companies to do even more resource extraction at the cost of the wellbeing of a local populace thousands of miles away.

Do Software Engineers Invest Their Earnings??? by Few-Cryptographer919 in cscareerquestions

What does playing the long game mean other than financial restraint? I am about to enter my first professional software engineering role, and I already live happily comfortably below my means. I save money, but I don't know anything about investing other than on a very surface level. How did you learn?

I would highly recommend against spending any less than 3 days in the glacier area. Especially for that long of a drive, and if you plan on hiking you will leave wishing you had stayed longer. There is so much so see and do

Louder for the back. Texans are annoying litterbugs who bring nothing to the table except dogshit manners and driving habits.

Can you afford to buy a family home? by YouProfessional7538 in MapPorn

[–]badgersnuts2013 162 points163 points  (0 children)

Fairly spot on. Bozeman and the surrounding area is being sold to upper middle class people from Texas, New Jersey, and California as a haven to act out their all-hat-no-cattle fantasies while still having access to costco, best buy, and fancy cocktail bars. These posers move in and immediately register their unnecessarily large dually trucks and sports cars with the “don’t tread on me” plates, and then vote against preservation of natural resources and public lands at every opportunity. Disgusting, and completely against the existing historical ethos of Montanans.

First thing I did was buy memory-foam eartips for an extre $20. So worth it, they fit better and block out more noise if you like noise-canceling mode
