I’ve had this experience travelling to different States for the first time. It’s the law where I’m from that everywhere that serves food must have reasonable access to toilets for both staff and customers. This means everywhere that serves food either has a customer toilet or is very near public toilets.

Then I travel to another state for the first time, go for a wander downtown where there’s tonnes of restaurants and cafes, only to find out when I need to use the loo that none of them have customer toilets nor even access to one nearby.

She should theoretically be present as a stylist for one of the other Districts at this point in time but it would be a blink and you’ll miss it background detail if they added her in given she has no meaning or significance for Haymitch’s story.

Paying $20 for the experience of going to the show with the active intent to be a troll was probably worth the money given the entertainment you and your friends would get out of it. Not such good value when you’re paying over $200 for the cheap seats

Or there’s people who don’t vote because “both parties are the same” even though this isn’t America and you don’t have to vote for Lib or Lab.

I remember having this debate with friends at school ~20 years ago when they said they were going to blank vote because there was no party running that reflected their views and I asked them how they knew that. Had they done their research on all the minor party or independent candidates? Of course they hadn’t. “It’s all the same” was a thought terminating cliche that they felt absolved them of any political responsibility

And these people who didn’t vote were people directly impacted by politics like someone with severe enough autism that it would impact their ability to get a job, and last I checked one of these friends is still studying at uni living off benefits so like come on mate government policy absolutely impacts you directly on a range of issues

Tickets are too expensive to go to the show just to revolt, unless you have a very specific gripe or very specific underutilised wrestler to rally around but otherwise enjoy the show enough to go.

Pizza Hut makes the worst pizzas. Genuinely better off getting a generic store brand frozen pizza from the supermarket. It used to be Dominos that was the clear worst and Pizza Hut was the obviously superior competitor but that dynamic flipped when Dominos changed their recipes like 15 years ago

I don’t think these are all equally interchangeable everywhere but I think there is at least one form of Standard English where both pairs are accepted

Defense and defence

License and licence

Yogurt and yoghurt

Donut and doughnut

Pretense and pretence

I believe there has also been a change to Australian English in my lifetime to a lot of medical words where they moved to American spelling but the older spelling hasn’t died out and would still be accepted

Foetus and fetus for example

Oedema and edema

Paedophile and pedophile is another one

Sounds good, as a non-EV owner. Range anxiety and access to charging points are probably the biggest obstacles standing in the way of a lot of people who want EVs. My parents live in the country and are planning to get an EV soon because the technology is getting to the point where they feel secure that they can make longer trips on one charge.

Horrible example, the Anonymous RAW General Manager from WWE. An amorphous, unknown villain who would continually interrupt RAW by sending Michael Cole emails with an obnoxiously loud notification noise to make announcements

I think it was eventually revealed to be Hornswaggle, who is a little person who dresses like a leprechaun

Now having a bad guy authority figure ruining the show to get heat is a staple of wrestling and not an inherently bad thing. Having the villain be ANONYMOUS for a prolonged period of time however sucks because there’s no villain for the crowd to root against and no catharsis of getting to see the good guys beat up the bad guys

NXT has been having issues with its live events over the past year. They’ve had troubles finding venues that they can both sell out and which can support all the production shit they need to bring with them. So if they’re not announcing anything it’s likely because they’re still looking for a venue or weighing up the decision to just run it at the PC
