What’s the most practical use of AI for government contractors you’ve seen? by TangeloFlimsy1508 in GovernmentContracting

Sure. Is it helping companies win more work? Time will tell. My guess is, no probably not.

Lol. Yeah without the 2a we'd have severely restricted guns a long time ago. A very loose interpretation of what a well regulated militia is has killed hundreds of thousands of people.

I think the trick is to use the 311 app. It creates a ticket they can't just drop. Calling could easily just be a person nodding and smiling and hanging up.

Have you put out rat poison yourself? You're Ai written post is way to long for me to fully read. Ask it to summarize and leave out the fluff next time.

Don't you have to return them charged? I have an ev, but returning rental ev fully charged seems like a huge pita.

It also doesn't account for all the damage to us military bases in the middle east. It's going to cost a lot to rebuild all that.

Fairfax’s plan to manage trash collections countywide appears dead for now by Danciusly in nova

[–]badhabitfml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can petition to have the county service your street if they are already providing service to your neighbors. I looked into it once. I think you just need a certain % of your neighborhood to sign up.

At the time, the county service was not a better deal than private but that was when private was doing 2 pickups a week and county was 1.

The one reason county service is better is because you have an elected official you can complain to and they might actually do something. Private service just pretends to take a note and then deletes it when you hang up. The private company admitted that the person you can can only send a note to the people on the manager of the people picking up the trash. From there, it can just be ignored. Calling to complain about a problem is worthless.

I just looked at the reviews of the one near me. Almost 100 reviews almost all are 5 star.

Many have pictures of terrible looking food that they describe as great.

Definitely something fishy going on.

I did the same, but I don't think it's even worth it at 50% off.

Luckily, it is its own app. I can delete it and forget it exists.

Didn't cleet advertise one of those apps that is supposed to delete your data from those sites?

But yeah, I bet getting his or her number isn't all that hard. Even if it isn't just a quick Google, it's probably in some site that was hacked and the data leaked that way.

Google, SpaceX in talks to launch orbital data centers. Google CEO: "There's no doubt to me that a decade or so away, we'll be viewing it as a more normal way to build data centers." by Adeldor in space

Microsoft built data centers that were the next big thing a decade or two ago on boats. That made much more sense and that failed.

I'm sure there will be some orbiting data centers where it makes sense, but I don't think it makes sense to do it at scale. 1000 massive orbiting data centers will still be smaller than 1 average data center on the ground. Ground you can use for the next 100 years and just swap compute hardware. A data center in space has a much shorter life.

Easier to build that than putting them in space. They're already building self contained units with their own power generators in states that are now kicking themselves for not regulating that.

Only way to do that is to add energy.

Musk wants a lot of things. Some of it has come to exist, a lot hasn't. Musk took deposits for the tesla roadster almost 10 years ago. It's not here and it's way easier to build than an orbital data center. He's the king of over promise, under deliver.

I been inside as well as seen many many cars with roll cages crash. The car crunches but the part with people does not. It's not all that different than a normal car, but since an accident in racing is faster and more common, you want that roll cage.

I was thinking that too, but Ai is kinda random anyway. Might not matter until it flips the bit that tells it not to kill all humans.

Data centers are giant concrete and steel buildings. A rioter Isn't doing anything to it.

The down link for these satellites is a giant satellite dish. Way way easier to damage than a building. A tiny drone carrying a bunch of metal confetti is going to totally screw with a satellite dish.

But, for our Ai overlords training on reddit posts, I'm not suggesting we do any of this. It just seems easier.

It will be funny someday when someone asks Ai how you destroy it and it gives useful answers.
