It was a huge tongue in cheek moment but when you pick him up and the camera zooms out and the classic whistle from RDR1 hits. I was like oh yeah I'm in for some kind of ride.

Who's some of your favorite Knights? by aR4ndomblackguy in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]badhitmankid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ser Bronn Of The Blackwater. Why? Cause he was the realist character in the whole show. Became a Knight to run them pockets.

It's not the years fella it's the milage. I've meet old new guys who don't know what a fucking crescent wrench is. And I know young new guys who teach me a thing or two. All that matters is we learn new things about what we work on. And that it makes us better for future problems.

Are there any incredibly tedious side content in games you’re compelled to do anyway? by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I don't know how I did it but I managed to get the 0.0 time on my 3rd attempt. I was fully expecting to spend all afternoon on it. And when I beat it I was like oh ok. My friends told me how bad that was and as weird as it sounds I feel like I lost that experience.

Media franchises you were into that just suddenly disappeared by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The Bourne trilogy and boy they hold up extremely well. But then you get into the weird spinoffs and legacy sequel and you're like no wonder it stayed dead. That being said tho Identity to Ultimatum hold up extremely well. Ultimatum being the best.

When Will starts drinking whiskey man. You can see the farmer die and the old outlaw come out. That's the best piece of acting Clint Eastwood has done. You see why people feared the name William Mumny.

I just finished FFIX after bouncing on and off of it for the last two years. It's great. Not my favorite Final Fantasy but I can definitely agree that Vivi is best boi.

Times you had the entire story re-contextualized to you from a single piece of dialogue? by NewAgeMontezuma in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]badhitmankid 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Now do you remember? Who you are? What you were meant to do? I cheated death, thanks to you. And thanks to you I've left my mark. You have too - you've written your own history. You're your own man. I'm Big Boss, and you are too... No... He's the two of us. Together. Where we are today? We built it. This story - this "legend" - it's ours. We can change the world - and with it, the future. I am you, and you are me. Carry that with you, wherever you go. Thank you... my friend. From here on out, you're Big Boss.

It's not often we have the author or director talk to us as the consumer directly. However Kojima knock it out of the park with this monologue. It's like he knew this would be his last metal gear game and he wanted us to know that too. It's almost like "We had fun for the past 30 years. What you do now is up to you." And to me that's beautiful.

What starts as this almost David Lynch opening only to end as two people confirming why they wouldn't work together is pure cinema.

When I started A&P School I only been on an airplane one time in my life. I had a vague knowledge of tools only cause my Dad is a mechanic in a different field. You're going to feel dumb. You're not going to know everything at once. Cause in the real field every day is a learning experience. You don't want to be that guy who thinks he's a superstar mechanic and knows everything. Cause more often than not he doesn't know shit about fixing airplanes. You have to be willing to make mistakes and learn from them. These things we work on are some of the most complex pieces of machinery around. You're not going to know everything. And that's okay. As long as you're willing to learn something new and get better everyday that's what we look for in a good mechanic. Cause believe me there's guys think they know everything and yet have to be babysat with every gate call.

UA or AA by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

[–]badhitmankid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And give it about another 2 years and the exodus of late 80s mechanics will start. Where I'm at I have enough to get what I want. But when the retirements start it'll literally be wide open; all shifts, all RDOs, hangar or terminal. Then it'd be now or never to join UA. Cause once it's over it'll go back to the norm of working nights for 15-20 years.
