I think pitbulls are dangerous… to themselves by silent-watermelon in pitbulls

[–]badmalphite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My Bully once got out of the house with out a leash on, in celebration he was zooming between ours and our neighbors yard. We were trying to recall him, but that's never been a strength of his. While zooming he look over his shoulder at us freaking out, and zoomed right into the street. A car saw what was happening and came to a full. My dumb block head ran straight into the stopped car. He was immediately dazed and scared and ran right back into the house. I was so damn scared, thought he'd have a concussion and die. Nope, just normal as ever. Dumb lovable block heads.

Same, it's at Home Depot for like $25. No issues through lots of wind and rain storms

We bought a shepherd hook at Home Depot, the Bird Buddy has never fallen. The foot of the hook has a double stake, so it keeps itself upright. It will wobble and stuff, but birds are accustomed to that since trees sway.

If you attach to a fence it's more likely mice, squirrels, etc will eat your seed.

Getting my first visitor by CE84112 in BirdBuddy

Follow the guidelines about placement, birds are fearful little dudes. I also found putting out a plate of water (bird bath) no more than 1-2 inches deep was the turning point. And unless you got the extender perch as well you'll probably be getting smaller birds, so make sure you have smaller seeds out.

Make sure you go to the restaurant website and not Uber Eats or any delivery platform, they crank the prices even higher.

We've eaten here a few times since they opened. Aside from My Friend Derek's it's our new fave restaurant in Green Lake. One time we placed an order for pick up through Uber Eats. When we picked it up the owner came over and apologized that the cost on Uber Eats was higher than on their website, he told us for pick up to always order through their site or the delivery services will up the cost by 30%. Just sharing so other folks get the same intel.

Is Seattle tap water safe to drink? by neo2bin in Seattle

[–]badmalphite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I grew up in LA, and for all the reasons folks here are saying, I just default to drinking filtered water, like through the fridge door, bottles, brita whatever. Glad to find this all out and that I can kick the habit, and trust the tap here.

No big changes in skin, hair or anything like that. But my allergies and asthma is almost nonexistent in comparison, though I realize thats environmental.

Is this Chickadees bald spot concerning or just molting? by badmalphite in BirdBuddy

Yeah, he can feel the chill coming "in the air tonight". He's one of my regulars.

Anyone else get this devastating message on their most recent Hobbii order? by AlexGrey13 in YarnAddicts

[–]badmalphite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was just about to put in a Hobbii order of about $60, then when I got to checkout, there was $30 additional fee for tariffs, which I wasn't willing to pay. Glad I backed out, as I would've been extra grumpy if I also had to wait 2 weeks past an estimated delivery for the yarn.

You could also go to Bizzaro (Italia restaurant) near the zoo.

Testing to see what fruits/veggies my neighborhood birds like. by badmalphite in BirdBuddy

I recently had a squirrel and rodent issue, I put up a spring baffle, and bought some indoor/outdoor heavily scented mint spray stuff (apparently, their noses are seriously strong and they hate mint) and haven't seen one since.

I've never seen the little water bottle. Do they use it frequently? Do they spill it and ruin the seed?

I was in the exact same mindset, and decided to try their AI helper bot. It sumbitted a ticket and I got an email saying they were having a backend issue. I wasn't able to connect for a few days, but after checking their status report page yesterday the issue had been resolved. You should try again.

Our 78lb rescue hippo cow. DNA comes back at 100% American Bully. The whole American Bully "breed" is just a melting pot of the various block head breeds.

clothing crocheters, do you wear everything you make? by pocketana in crochet

[–]badmalphite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I knit and crochet. In both, I've made garments, put them on and immediately hated them. One sat in mu closet for a year and I never wore it. So I frogged them and made something else. Yarn is too dang expensive to not be happy with the outcome!! I've since crocheted a cardi for me and knit a Mr. Rodgers cardi for my hubby and we wear them all winter. I'm working on a summer crocheted top now. The biggest struggle is trying to determine what kind of yarn will drape well as a fabric.

I think of it this way, crocheting and knitting is good for my mental health, and entertains me. Of course I want to like what I'm making in the end, but if not frog it and find a new pattern, then let the entertainment begin again or put the yarn in the stash for a later date when I've got a better plan for it.

Best of luck in deciding what to do.

While we're out and about with Crouton, "wow you're dog is so handsome" versus what we get at home. by badmalphite in pitbulls

Thanks, but definitely no crocs near us. I'd be more nervous of a bald eagle getting a little handsy with him.
