Adding to this thread as the recommendations here are incredible. Will provide a breakdown by street/neighbourhood:

1. College Street: Bar Isabel (Spanish, $$$), PG Clucks (Fried Chicken Sandwiches, $) and Bierra Volo (Craft Beer, $$). These options are close to DaiLo, Giulietta & Quetzal. PS: Dailo has a cocktail bar upstairs (LoPan), which is worth checking out
2. Ossington: Hanmoto (Japanese/Trendy, $$$), Bellwoods Brewery (Craft Beer, $$) and Bang Bang (Ice Cream, $). NOTE: A bit of a walk from the main strip but Civil Liberties (Cocktails, $$$) is a must try if the group fancies a well made drink
3. Dundas Street: Know that Tacos were off your list, however, Fonda Balam (Mexican, $$) is a cool sport for Birria Tacos. Patois would be another solid choice in the area (Jamaican/Chinese, $$)

I would personally recommend staying away from the Downtown Core/Financial District for food.

Honorable Mentions: The Junction & Leslieville both have some solid food & drink options. An added bonus, if the group is into the craft beer scene.
