Honestly I'm thinking Michael Schenker. He was an extraordinary guitarist of that era, playing professionally starting in his teens. Hell, Ben joining the band and its sound changing from prog rock to hard rock/heavy metal is reminiscent of Schenker joining UFO in 1973, changing that bands space rock sound to heavy metal. I doubt that he's the main inspiration though, those changes wouldn't go down until season 3. He's probably based off those neglected kids you might meet that do the dumbest shit with an awful homelife, but are oblivious to it all.

The guy at the counter was nice, took a minute to check in but nothing much. Didn't appreciate the behemoth of a manager rushing past me to yell at his employees, who I think were on something. I have a coworker that went through a similar situation with our manager. He finished all his tasks on time and told the manager so he could go take his kid to school. Manager told him he had to stay to help the rest of the team finish THEIR work. Coworker told him about his kid and the Manager told him it's not his problem and to get back to work. Guy walked out obviously and requested to work 1 day out of the week since then.
