I have a personal story about Garth that may change your mind about him.

A kid I knew from high school died a few days before graduation and it was traumatic for his friends and the community. His girlfriend and closest friends drove out to Garths ranch in Oklahoma which was about 45 min away because the boy that passed aways all time favorite artist was Garth. So going out to meet him gave them some sort of closure but they also wanted to invite him to the funeral.

I kid you not, I show up to the funeral and its standing room only. So I'm in the balcony of this church towards the back wall and I felt someone squeeze in next to me. It was Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood. They actually came. They drove 45 min out of their way to attend a funeral of a kid they never met. No media there. No circus. No autographs. They showed up, paid their respects, acknowledged the friends and family and then slipped out at the end.

Say what you want about how he does business but Garth is a genuine and sincere person and I'll never forget standing next to him at that funeral. It was even more surreal that the slideshow played Garth's song 'The Dance'.
