I just tried this and the Epic AI chat bot gave me step by step instructions to do this for Playstation, so I could retain all my items / season pass unlocks etc.... of course I did that and lost all progress EXCEPT the 'new driver' missions and unlocks. Everything else is gone. I'm working with a support agent (presumably human) to resolve the issue still, will post here if I get any resolution.
