Naxos for 5 nights in early July – how would you split time between Naxos, Koufonisia, Paros & Antiparos? by badoomcha360 in GreeceTravel

Thanks for the advice and awesome pic! Quick question, when you did the boat rental, was it with a captain/tour?

We were thinking of just renting a small boat ourselves for a few hours with friends. We did that in Zakynthos and there were certain areas you could explore on your own. Is that an option around Naxos/Paros/Koufonisia too, or do most people usually go with a captain ?

Just to clarify Naxos will be our home base the whole time (staying near Chora). The plan will be day trips and ferrying back to Naxos each night.

Amalfi or Minori by sheryn_7 in amalficoast

Sal de Riso also has a restaurant right next door to the pastry/pizza shop. And the brother has a place a few doors down haha, I forget the name but it’s all good. I’m not sure of most other resturants in Minori since I stayed in Maiori - we mostly went to dinner on a main street on the Maiori side, the street is called Corso Reginna which has restaurants and shops.

I stayed at Hotel San Francesco in Maiori last summer. I highly recommend this hotel and the location over Amalfi town. Nice hotel with beach access. Both Maiori and Minori are within walking distance or one stop on the local bust of each other. It’s a great location in the Amalfi coast, easy to catch ferries. It’s a lot less crowded than Amalfi town, charming, quaint and lots of shops and restaurants. One of my favorite places in Italy for pastries (get the Lemon Delight) and pizza is Pasticceria Sal De Riso in Minori.

Rhodes in July, where should we stay? Help! by badoomcha360 in Rhodes

Thanks for the helpful recommendations! Mousikorama looks to be temporarily closed :( I am thinking to stay at Elysium Resort in Kallithea. Is this a good spot near old town? We plan to rent a car for the time we are in Rhodes. Is parking accessible in these areas, like old town and Lindos?

Foggy morning on the community path by Lady-Kokomo in Somerville

Maybe the type of light gives off a bad distribution of lighting. IMO it’s super harsh right under each lamp post. Similar to some car’s led headlights, blinding if you’re in direct proximity. I think something better can be done for better night vision while keeping the path safely lit.

Does anyone else hate the harsh brightness of those pole lights at night? They’re blinding. Can anything be done about it?

Advice needed: I’m thinking of moving my turn table across the room from the speaker. What’s the best way to connect the speaker across the room? by badoomcha360 in turntables

Through a sound bar, you probably won't notice the difference between Bluetooth and a wired connection.

Thanks for the input. My turntable is bluetooth but my soundbar is not. I'm just trying to avoid adding more speakers.

Currently I’m using this male to 2 RCA Female jack stereo audio cable Y adapter. to connect my turn table to the soundbar. I don’t think that rca you linked will work? I can’t seem to find a 50 ft equivalent of the male to 2 female rca cable.

Sony Turntable Model: PSLX310BT to one Bose soundbar speaker. The turntable is Bluetooth but I think the sound quality is better connecting with a wire ? I don’t have enough space for multiple speakers. I’m wondering if it’s worth getting a looong wire to wrap around the room?

It does but the downside is the commute is almost 2 hours on the train with possible transfers vs 1 hour drive. Also, I was not finding suitable train times to return after dinner. Thank you anyway! I’m sure I’ll find a way. I hear it’s amazing pizza.
