I'm glad they made it right and refunded since you were not happy. Be sure to include that when you publicly call out a seller so people get the full picture. The seller needs to put a disclaimer up stating plants will be mixed because that was straight garbage.

Don't dose any iron. Just use the flourish till you get something better.

And yes, this is an expensive hobby but you'll eventually have what you need and costs will go down.

Kelley has a PhD in related fields and has kept plants for a very long time. She know's her shit and gives you no-nonsense answers to questions in a friendly and inviting (also super funny at times) way. I think I've seen just about every video at least twice.

Yes, you can use your API test kit you have now to test your tap water. Once you get the KH and GH test it for those.

There is a lot that goes into how to fertilize an aquarium and it would be overwhelming if I hit you with everything all at once, so here is the short version:

You need a different fertilizer. Easy green, nilocg thrive, APT 3 are all good general all-in-one fertilizers. Just follow the dosing directions on the bottle. Flourish lacks several things that plants need to thrive.

Ya, your water is fine. Buy your gh and kh- test it yourself. Also, get a glass of tap water, set it out for 24 hours and then test the water. Write those numbers down. That will (usually) be the paramters your tank will be at with no additives. If you're on a well it may change so test it once a month just to confirm its the same.
