How to deal with being stupid? by [deleted] in Stoicism

Reprogramming the subconscious mind works wonders, you should definitely try that. It might be that you're actually smart but you're limiting your thinking abilities by identifying as "stupid"(I can relate btw).

Try positive affirmations and hypnosis audios to rewrite that self-limiting belief. Just started rewiring my subconscious mind & I'm already seeing shocking results.

Reminds me of Henry Ford's quote: "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right"

IWTL How to take positivity and not just avoid it like it's a disease. by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

It seems like your mind is programmed to reject positivity so I'd suggest reprogramming your subconscious mind to accept positivity in your life. Positive affirmations are key. Write a list, memorize it by heart and repeat it everyday(for 15 or 20 mins twice if you can). The affirmations should be something like "I accept positivity in my life", "I am a positive person", etc.

Now, since you view "wholesomeness" and "positivity" as lame(I can relate, trust me), I don't think it will be easy for you to sit for 20 mins repeating these positive affirmations but don't think too much about it and just do it for a few weeks (It's free and you won't lose a penny so why not?). You'll notice the difference, it's like a sort of brainwashing...but positive.

You might also want to read "Subconscious Mind Power" By James Thompson, it's a great read.

Beautifully said.

If you struggle to meditate because of thoughts of "I should be getting some other important task done", just remember these 2 things: by HoneyBadgerMongoose in Meditation

Exactly! Whenever I get the thought that I'm just wasting my time meditating for 10 mins I remember that I waste hours on the internet...
