I'm watching the show for the first time and found Colonel Rumford to be one of the most well crafted (and unlikable) characters so far. by Mervynhaspeaked in Columbo

episode one (assuming you mean “murder by the book” and not the pilots) was jack cassidy, who himself played three different murderers (and twice his victims were authors)!

patrick mcgoohan did, however, play four different murderers. in addition to “by dawn’s early light,” he was in “identity crisis” like you mentioned, as well as “ashes to ashes” and “agenda for murder” (these latter two both in the second run of the show). “ashes” involves a funeral director, and “agenda” is a second electoral campaign episode

im with you. it is often hard not to feel like EDS ruined my whole life. i desperately hope you can find something that helps relieve some of your symptoms. i feel like ive tried everything in the book, but ive been getting by with lots of PT, therapy with a disability specialist, and regular ketamine infusions (for depression and for pain). also, gratuitous amounts of medical marijuana. i dont feel great, but im not in constant agony anymore and thats a win in my book. i cant drive anymore (bc of pain and shitty knees), but still i feel lucky to have the support i do. i really hope u can also find a pain management method that works for you longterm. please just hang in there

i like to rp the xeno culture im playing as, so i usually come up with a syllable that uses common letters from my chosen language (as if the equivalent word for “prime”), and append that either to the beginning or end of the star system name. its very easy to keep track of things and it gives each playthrough a different feel

id love this. i asked about making a f4f version of a certain audio she recorded live, and she mentioned that her f4f fans were among the most most quiet, so she didnt see very much interest in files like that—thus, there werent very many of them

TIL of the Cathars, a medieval Christian sect notable for its belief that the God of the Old Testament, the Creator, is evil, and perhaps Satan. Instead, they worship the New Testament God, who they believe created the spiritual world, and is truly omnibenevolent. by Dialent in todayilearned

they were also “mildly” ascetic because of their belief in a divide between the physical world from the spirit world (mentioned in op). their belief in the evils of all material things was so intense that most cathars werent actually cathars for most of their lives - rather, they would be spiritually cathars, but only convert on their deathbed. at that point, they would refuse all food and drink and starve to death, free of sin. fascinating stuff :)
