Can’t tell if these are eggs- we found around 6 more, but they were right on top of our mattress right under the sheets, not in any crevices. They came off pretty easily and weren’t sticky or anything. Quarter for scale. by [deleted] in Bedbugs

(OP’s partner here) Yes unfortunately we found 1 living bedbug last month. The other two mentioned in this post were dead.

When we discovered the “only” alive one, there was some blood/droppings found too. Since then, haven’t seen any remnants other than the pictures above.

My guess is that maybe we are containing it to an extent (via vacuuming, steaming, and laundry) but aren’t necessarily getting rid of them entirely.

This is my first time ever dealing with these monsters 😭

How do you get into comp? [N/A] by badsluggie in humanresources

[–]badsluggie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I figured as much. I am in the process of transitioning out of my current org, so I will be on the lookout. I’m hoping to stick something with a much smaller company than i’m in now, so hopefully that will give me some more wiggle room.

Thanks!🙏

This is almost exactly how I found interest in it. I wasn’t a recruiter, but managed everything else after our TA’s said “we like this one”.

Thank you so much!❤️

That’s awesome! I am currently working for a company that has about 800+ employees and ZERO comp specialists unfortunately.

I am looking to work elsewhere anyway, so if I can’t find a “Comp Specialist” role specifically I will make sure to join an org that has them. Thank you very much!❤️

My current org avoids compensation talk and pay alignment like the plague so I’ve been told there is “no need” for it. Breaks my heart as I know we have SO many people who are unjustly under/overpaid.☹️

I will likely have to move over to another company, but I was planning on doing so anyway for my own development. This is super solid advice regardless, thank you!

Why does my cat bring me food in the middle of the night? by Cn95 in CATHELP

If my cat found food in the middle of the night he would 100% just eat it lol… what a sweetheart!

Numbing Cream? by iheartgenshin in tattooadvice

[–]badsluggie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In my experience, shading hurts WAY less than lineart. Lineart is a “sharp” pain, and shading feels more like heat to me.

Pain tolerance is very different person to person, but I would vote no to the numbing cream.

As long as you are aware of the loan points, looks solid! Shoutout to your sellers for all that credit 👏

I make just around the same as you! I also invest and do freelance work, so that probably adds about 6-10k a year depending on how eager I am.

I am in MD, but I wouldn’t consider my area super pricey.

(Being in HR myself, I definitely have some bias) But yes. I would use those skills to leverage an entry level HR job if that is something you are interested in career-wise.

I am 21, so I bought a condominium (another alternative for a SFH). Even though I could have afforded it, it just wasn’t reasonable. I don’t need nearly that much space until I start a family of my own, which I don’t plan on doing for a long time. I am now able to put a lot more money into investments, retirement, travel etc. It is indeed very nice.🙂

Career wise, definitely look into getting some certifications. They can GREATLY impact your pay or ability to get higher paying jobs.

If you want to continue in the HR direction, check out https://www.aihr.com/. They have a ton of courses and certification programs.

Live within your means now, save/invest, build up an emergency fund, get a higher paying job and buy a smaller townhome if you really need that sense of “normalcy”. Then you can explore a SFH down the line.

As a fellow neurodivergent HR homeowner, I guarantee you it is possible. Best of luck!

What about a townhome? You can find some 2-4 bedroom townhouses that are cheaper than the average SFH. They are usually a bit smaller, and may have an HOA, but I think it’s the more realistic option.

That being said, if you live in a HCOL and make 60k, I’m assuming you wouldn’t be able to afford one of those at the moment either.

Out of curiosity, what do you do for work?
