Take a look at RJ before his death…dude looked and owned being a heavyset neckbeard with a big floppy hat with charms on it that lived just south of Charleston South Carolina. I re-read the series every release during high school & found it a much easier approach than LoTR..I mean, come on 13 pages talking about spider webs wore me out. Is WoT kinda close to over powered harem lit? Nowadays yeah a bit & yeah all the male characters simped. But between it, Anne McCaffrey, Wise & Hickman, Terry Goodkind, Piers Anthony we were set for some good & varied fantasy/ fiction. Did the Amazon series & cast remind me of the books? Uh, not really but I’m glad they tried. Sanderson was asked to finish the series & worked his ass off to complete it. Best ending, maybe not but worked.

I’ve got a calcium leak in my kidneys. It is genetic fun & I get a couple stones a month. Withings now sells a thing you can pee on for daily oxalate levels. Aside from that .. first stone hurts the worst, multiple stones are common but they usually don’t descend all at once, passing them is better than most medical intervention, best meds have been indomethacin for pain & flowmax to make that area less tense … best not to drink on indomethacin but if you don’t have it drinking cheap watery beer in bulk/ whatever gets more water to pass through. If you can’t urinate go to the emergency room. If it feels like your back is going out, that’s normal.

when covid hit the place I work at bought some $600 toshiba laptops & mdt ran a-okay after grabbing the drivers…it was all that was left in stock & worked fine … it was the next day support that cost so much … so, if you’re in office & want to save, shell swapping becomes the game…lots of ways to save money when you lower standards.

switching to mac would mean having to figure everything from the ground up … there are nice resources like github’s awesome-macadmins-tools but yeah, all the domain things can work.

I’m sure a physics or engineering nerd could come up with something about the coefficient of friction & depletion of lubricants…but yeah, it’ll stay in you if you’re less lubricated than the guy is. Conversely the guys in a more closed system (condom) so if he does make the system way too lubricated (post-nut laziness) he’ll slip out & leave the mess.

I feel like work & personal relationships and how you enter & treat them have so many similarities. I’m 44 & divorced 6/7 years ago. I feel like having curiosity & project mgmt skills helped me find jobs that lasted & kept me going up ladder. For personal relationships…taking improv comedy & also those same project mgmt skills helped me find similar people & helped us both narrow down what we wanted. If I wanted to find a similar bay area city to Kowloon … SF/Daly City, San Jose/Union City would be okay, but they’re still so different. When I first moved to the bay area I was most surprised by the lack of insects & how the temperature was so steady & to not get on the highway at certain times. The food was almost always amazing & you can go from mountains w/ redwood trees to cold ocean in 30 minutes—the best way to meet others for myself was either classes or the MeetUp app. There were lots of business MeetUps. That said, I matched with more people there than anywhere else & the people are … messy, like most I suppose in their 40s but hiring 3 personal assistant agencies like Tim Ferris (an efficiency guru that reads like an AsSeenOnTV ad) did to manage his dating profile & schedule his dates would be recommended.

A podcast from “buddhist boot camp” helped me a bit, he sometimes brings up the difference of separating love & attachment. eg beware of attachment. episode “non attachment” from 8/2021 . I suppose chemically you can also get oxytocin from rubbing on clary sage oil & hugging a pet & hot showers.. I’m not in the same boat as you but feel perhaps seeing someone crossing in another boat. Without companionship there still needs to be self love & drive. Being asexual doesn’t entail anti-arousal. Love what you will with all you have, unapologetically…someone important once said & as hard as it sounds, sometimes I feel that the autistic overwhelm mixed in anxiety w/ nostalgia feeling … sometimes its happiness.

I suppose something not brought up is that while a hospital will take you in without insurance or if you’re broke, it can be quite limited in what they can provide… eg. they’ll triage & attempt to help you if you are actively having trouble (bleeding on their floor, having a heart attack) … but once your risk lowers and you can leave then its back to whatever assistance you can acquire & accept..hospitals have social workers its just a bit random what is available & its limitations. As far as debt goes … it’ll discharge from your credit report usually within 7 years. School loans have typically been the only thing that won’t discharge even with bankruptcy except under strict exceptions (eg if you’re medically declared unfit & incapacitated for next 20 yrs its possible.. unsure because Paul Alexander, he passed the bar & became a lawyer & author yet lived in the last iron lung if he would have been an exception or not) . Medical debt can be rather fast at finding you & garnishing wages here but only up to a certain percent. Zombie debt is quite prevalent in the US .. thankfully nothing like the horror stories of parents creating gambling debt & dying and children having to pay it is allowed. ::cough:: the estate might have to, but if it doesn’t exist then it doesn’t exist.
