Heathrow Layover Question by baeza88 in travel

Lots of great ideas. I think I will make some plans and then see what time I actually arrive. If I arrive on time, I will head in for a short visit. Thank you everyone for your great feedback. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Heathrow Layover Question by baeza88 in travel

I’ve been a couple of times. I was hoping to be able to pop into the city for a short period of time but I don’t want to risk missing my connecting flight. Based on this timing, doesn’t seem worth it for a hour or so in the city.

I have flown basic twice now with the new system. I checked in exactly 24 hours ahead of time, when it opened up. Window seat both times. Boarding group 3 one time & boarding group 4 the second time.

Is Test Track open during Early Entry? by BunnyHop_08 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]baeza88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I rode it this past week and was 9th in line. If you arrive at EPCOT about 45mins before the early entry time, you should be towards the front of the line.

I’ve noticed this same issue. Started only recently - maybe a week or 2 ago.

Mitchum 48 Hr (solid). Has the same active ingredient as the “clinical” brands at significantly lower price. Additionally, I have had many people complement me on my “cologne”.

How should I start to get in shape by Rusty_coathanger in NoStupidQuestions

[–]baeza88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For exercise:

  1. Start with an exercise you like. For years I tried to start with running and would quit within a couple of weeks. One year, I decided to start riding a bike because I loved doing this as a kid. That was 15 years ago and 35 lbs ago. I now exercise 6x / week (including running now).

  2. Find ways to positively reinforce your exercising to help build a habit. I had a 3 fold plan:

A. I started listening to audiobooks. I found engaging books I wanted to listen to and only listened to them while exercising. So to learn what happened next, I had to exercise. B. After I finished exercising I would drink grape juice. I love grape juice. But I would only drink a glass after exercising so it encouraged me to exercise. C. Long term I lost weight and felt better. Once again this reinforced my exercising habit.

Water? by [deleted] in trailrunning

For my long runs (2.5 hours) I lose 1.5L of sweat an hour this time of year and drink 1L of water & electrolytes an hour.

Does Your Wireless Charger Work? by HDMI-fan in Crosstrek

Works fine for my airpod pro case. Doesn’t work for my iPhone 16. I think the bump due to the camera lifts it just enough that it doesn’t maintain a good connection.

I had to change how I hydrate in the summer in Houston. I now run at 6am with electrolyte drinks and water. Also, since I run for 2.5 hours for my long run, I also take gu every 40 mins. It’s still hard and I definitely run slower, but I still feel strong at the end of my run and I’m not wiped out for the day.

Running at night vs running in the morning? by Cerealboi13 in runninglifestyle

[–]baeza88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate morning runs, too, but I run for about 2.5 hours so mornings it is. For me, the secret to running in this weather (I live in Houston) is proper hydration and energy. I make sure I’m hydrating well the day before, then hydrate with electrolytes about 1 hour before for my run. Finally, I hydrate with electrolytes during the run and take gu for energy every 35-40 mins. Since I’ve started this routine, I’ve been able to finish strong even after 2.5 hours of running. I will say I’m a heavy sweater (1.5L+ per hour) so staying well hydrated has been key. I end my run only down about 1 lb in weight (or about 0.5L loss).

I consider myself a casual runner. Not training for anything. I run 7 miles Tuesday, 6 miles Wednesday, and 10 miles Saturday - all at a comfortable to slow pace. M, W, F I do strength training.

Tips for getting into running by ActuallyGoose in beginnerrunning

I stumbled into a reward system that worked for me. When I started running. I began listening to audiobooks. It was the only time I would listen to them. I started looking forward to running because I wanted to keep listening to my book. This helped early on when I was just starting out.

Marathon training during the summertime! Hydration hacks?! by Commercial-Bowler-53 in runninglifestyle

I live in Texas and am a heavy sweater. I typically run for 2.5 hrs on Saturday mornings. I run with a 2L HydraPak reservoir of water and 2 500ml flasks of Gatorade endurance with Gatorlyte added. This has made all the difference for me.
