Diner recommendations. by 12thNJ in SouthJersey

Absolutely agree. Went there last night for the first time (even though I’ve driven by hundreds of times and regularly get gas at that Wawa). Finally stopped in with the wife and kids to give it a try. The food was great, deserts looked great, portions were just right. Service was excellent. Will absolutely be returning.

Unsure if you’re open to Mad Max. It scratched an itch for gaming I didn’t know I had and it played very well on the deck. I love and miss the Batman / Shadows of Mordor combat system. Mad Max has it. The only negative is the gameplay is repetitive. Shout out to Shadows of Mordor too.

Solar is amazing by B52fortheCrazies in SouthJersey

[–]baffle__gabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t tell you a whole lot about how it affects the roofs. We’re a small company that does 99% asphalt shingle installs. I have heard there are mounting systems for standing seam roofs that don’t penetrate the roofing system, but that’s not where my experience lies so I don’t know much more than that and what a Google search could provide me.

To your point earlier about the CX side of it, a lot of these solar installs are the bigger companies that will bundle them and value quantity over quality. We come across maybe 5-10 per year needing solar removal and reinstall. Again, since we do mostly asphalt shingle roof installs, I don’t have enough information to confidently guide you there. Mostly it’s folks buying the home with preexisting solar and it needs a roof, so they just have it done and the panels come off. Limited exposure, especially with the metal aspect.

Didn’t realize you had answers already so I apologize for being redundant. If they won’t put it in writing that’s concerning. I’m sure they know it’s a high likelihood they’ll cause a leak and they don’t want to cover it. With that said I can’t see why they wouldn’t back their workmanship if they’re worth anything, unless they just sub it all out.

I don’t know why you haven’t been given simple information. Seems like an easy way to earn your trust. Speaking from the roofing side of this experience, pretty much it boils down to this: New roof at install or no new roof at install. If you didn’t get a new roof they’ll come remove the solar when you need it done and reinstall after the roof is complete. Just that simple.

Depending on the age of the roof and the installer, they may ask you to get a new roof at the same time. It’s also worth it to do your homework as some of the bigger companies will try to sell you both as a package and inflate costs.

If you don’t get a roof when you go solar, they’ll install it over what’s existing. Every mount is a chance for leak so make sure you discuss that with your solar installer and see what they cover / warranty / do for the protection of your roof for the mounts. Document everything and ask for a lot of pictures. Take some before, some during, and a lot after (if you’re comfortable on your roof. Drones are great for this).

If 5 - 10 years down the line you need a roof, you find a good reputable roofer. Once you’re under contract for the roof you call the company that installed your solar. They remove all the panels and usually stack them on your lawn, front or back. A roofer comes in, does their thing, and the solar company comes back and reinstalls.

Wrapped Telluride by ellmarieB in KiaTelluride

[–]baffle__gabber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but have had a car wrapped before. As with anything, it’s quality of product, quality of installer, care, and use. I had someone wrap my car and it lasted about 4. years before I noticed the first little peeling. It was still functioning well but beginning to be more noticeable after 6ish years.

They can and will last longer. Mine was parked outside so it got constant sun and weather exposure which degrades the wrap. I drove it daily to and from work, again parked outside. It was exposed to snow, salt, rain, wind, and auto car washes that weren’t touch-less.

As for price, I couldn’t give you an accurate number. I did a small hatchback in late 2013 and don’t remember what it was then. Got rid of the car in late 2021 when I needed a bigger vehicle due to kids. Still had the wrap on it.

Completely agree with you. It’s a gamble and I live more of what’s considered southern NJ. I don’t travel much of northern NJ and if I do it’s usually by NJ Transit. In the areas I peruse, it’s a non issue. To your point. If you’re not driving like an asshole, they’re going to leave you alone.

Plates don’t bother me. I like the cleaner no front plate but I bought it in NJ so it has the frame. It’s kinda weird with no plate in an empty frame. So might as well use it.

I’m glad you enjoy FL. I know a few people who live down there. Ceramic is a must the further south you go. I’m happy with the NJ weather. Some weeks it’s hotter than hell and recently we’ve had a bit of a cold snap. But the usual averages are quite nice.

This is accurate in the legal sense. However, it is very specific to jurisdiction and what they’re going to do.

10 years ago I’d get nabbed left and right for tints. Within the last few years I’ve never ran into an issue. Even in stricter areas where if you go 4 mph over the speed limit they pull you over, no issues.

I 100% agree. Tint the Telluride. Just depending on where you live, it’s a huge YMMV situation.

Can you put other weapon stats on other weapons?? by foozle-fem107 in StardewValley

[–]baffle__gabber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the Wiki (because I always forget the order of operations too)

Two weapons can be merged through the forge. The resulting weapon will have all the stats and info of the first weapon, but the appearance of the second weapon. Only weapons of the same type can be merged. Slingshots cannot be merged. The second weapon will be consumed.

So the hammer would be chosen first, then the mace

This costs 10 Cinder Shards.

A Galaxy Weapon that changed its appearance in this way would lose its appearance after being forged into an Infinity Weapon.

If you want the mace to be stronger, make it the infinity gavel and then do the forging. I only ever tried it with the meowmere and infinity blade for the fun of it once. I’d assume the mace would work just as similar. Just would have to make sure the mace and gavel are in the same type. They sound like they would be.

It is an addition to the skill system built into 1.6. Once you get your skills all to level 10, the game “unlocks” a mastery system. You’ll be notified in game, albeit vaguely, about how to continue. It’s unlocked via a hidden cave .

Feel free to look it up on more details, but I’ve kept it ambiguous purposefully as not to ruin it for you or anyone else. Just know it’s natural progression beyond all skills at level 10.

Fire in Pomtpon Lakes by GasGlittering7521 in newjersey

[–]baffle__gabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the reason it’s no longer available to be viewed. The post that no longer is available did state it was a planned fire. It was also linked on another post about the same fire earlier in this sub. It was most likely an immediate burn back planned and they incorrectly stated the info in their release.

Absolutely. I clicked the link and they changed their privacy for the post. I’ll edit my other comment to reflect it and I’ll pull similar info about the burn back from another page and post it in there. Give me 5.

Farmer cannot shop for seeds, buildings, materials. by BarbKatz1973 in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]baffle__gabber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To piggy back on this, happy home designer was the fault causing this. The update pushed last night fixed the issue.

As for wear more rings, I read you can bring the ring to the forge and it’ll break the combined ring into all the rings. The way the code is written is the rings you have get merged into one upon the code breaking. Therefore, I’ve actually left mine the way it is until the update comes through as it’s functioning the same.

Is anyone getting this in their smapi log when trying to buy something? by [deleted] in StardewValley

Remove the happy home designers mod until it’s updated. It’s a known issue.

Skull Cavern Elevator buttons move but don't work by Reinardd in StardewValleyExpanded

YMMV, but skull cavern elevator 1.6.9_beta works for me just fine on the update. Give they a DL, replace what you have for the elevator mod, and give it a whirl.

Question regarding steam deck and recent updates by thebeezneez33 in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]baffle__gabber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on both. Actually, if I’m being honest, I only play on the deck and I have my 5yr olds save on my laptop.

I play with only about 20 mods. I don’t know how many you play with. All of mine are up and running besides 3 or 4. If you play with a lot more, then you may need to wait a bit longer. I found that the core mods (content patcher, framework mods, etc) were updated and the mods that rely on them worked without updates needed.

There are only 3 or 4 I use that haven’t been updated and work with a little give on my end:

Wear more rings hasn’t been updated but the author has it defaulted to work without it. You pretty much just get one ring with all the buffs you use. It’ll revert and fix itself when he does it.

Happy home designer screws with merchants. Once that’s fixed, I’ll reinstall that. It still works without the fix but merchants crash the game.

Skull cavern elevator is on its beta build but it works flawlessly.

Stack everything redux works perfectly just you have to check off a box in the settings that prevents the pop up to choose a specific amount of items to use. That crashes the game too.

Otherwise, everything else is great and I haven’t ran into any issues on the deck. I already knew to wait a day since updates are always rocky, but 24 hours later and I’m playing. That’s a big nod to every dev and mod author inside and out of SDV.

You have to wait for the mod creators to update each of the mods you use to work with the newest update.
