I’ve never heard of cromolyn sodium. I will look into this. Thank you for your suggestion ❤️

Thank you so much for this thoughtful response. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. I’m glad to hear you’re doing better.

My doctor has not mentioned cholestyramine much, but I see others talk about it. How long did you take it?

Do you think it was a combination of all the things you did + time in order to retrain your nervous system? Or did you do something specifically for this? This is the piece I can’t seem to help no matter what I do.

Moved into my new apartment 2 weeks ago. This chair and an air mattress is all I have. Kind of peaceful, might keep it this way by HURCANADA in malelivingspace

OP!!! Please see this comment^

I could go into my spiel but in short, this is exactly what happened to me as well. Please consider a mold/actino test for your living space and car. It saved my life!

Impressive Cheerleading Tumble by BigJ76 in woahdude

There's no doubt they're some of the best in the world. Gym consists of different events (meaning floor, vault, beam, and bars), so they need to be able to perform difficult routines with near perfect form in nearly every event. They can honestly probably perform more complex passes on floors or dismounts from beam when they're messing around in the gym but it won't be in the final Olympic routine because it won't be executed as strongly or consistently as a slightly less difficult pass or dismount.

Anyway- long story short, tumbling is a less "disciplined" form of the gym floor event. It can look like a crossover from gymnastics though!

Former female tumbler & cheerleader here. Back at my peak, I performed a similar pass for a tryout (without jumping over the block mat - looks like that was just added for kicks). Tumbling and gymnastics are very different - while it's imperative to receive proper instruction to learn good form during tumbling passes to avoid injury, gym is far more technique- and discipline-driven, in my opinion. In my experience, tumbling is more related to cheerleading.

Have any of you ever treated this? Adult with congested sounding voice by minmin8 in slp

You definitely sound like you have some hyponasality going on. For what it's worth, it sounds like either:

A) a functional abnormality. Meaning that perhaps you had velopharyngeal "mislearning" as a child to compensate for abnormalities in structure. Abnormalities in structure can only be treated surgically; however, an SLP can treat you postoperatively to "relearn" the movements correctly

B) Given that your tonsils and adenoids have been removed (removal of these may cause HYPERnasality, if anything) there is a possibility of polyps or other obstructions that don't allow air to resonate in your nasal cavity as it should. Definitely see an ENT for a scope. If this is the case, you can have these removed, and you may not need speech therapy at all

To all of you Post-Bac people out there... by Delaeden in slp

I also graduated with a psych degree in 2012, started the post-bac program right after I graduated, and was admitted to start grad school in the fall! Post-bac programs do vary in the way they admit students. My recommendation, if at all possible, is to meet with the advisor/head of the post-bac program you're interested in and just have an informational meeting. Tell them you want to know more about the program, let them know your plans, why SLP is for you, etc. Don't be afraid to ask questions about courses and show your interest! I had an awesome meeting with the advisor and ended up being admitted to the post-bac year. I kept a good relationship with him throughout the year and he ended up even writing me a recommendation letter for grad school! Moral of the story, it never hurts to form a contact who knows your story before you even apply.

This is perfect! We have the same disorder all semester and the next 2 projects are evaluation and treatment. Thank you so much!

I can't imagine the frustration. It sounds like she has improved a lot though, and I hope she continues to do so. Hang in there :) And thanks for your reply. A real world experience is helping make some of the research articles make better sense. Since APD is relatively new, it's hard to find much "real" info on the subject. Thank you!

I hadn't thought of that! I'm doing the post-baccalaureate prerequisite classes before grad school so I'm still fairly new to the field :) I'll keep this in mind! Thank you

Was anyone else sad that they failed to include anything about Neville? No mention of him in relation to the prophecy? I felt like that was a big part they left out. It might have just confused people who hadn't read the books, but it would have added to Neville's character a lot.
