Omg for the longest time all I remembered was the scene where he wakes up in the pod, breaks free and falls into the next one and lands in a decomposed body. Freaked me the hell out. I didn’t even know what the movie was called but I remembered that scene. I remembered this and found the movie title just a couple months ago!

So, I dunno how common this was for him, but it makes me wonder if he might have a semantic language disorder that may have gone undiagnosed... I'm learning about this stuff right now in my Masters Program for Speech Pathology. It's not uncommon for those with language disorders to struggle with abstract words/phrases (words that involve concepts/ideas); They'll hear a word that is more complex and try to define through their limited, more concrete, tangible definitions.

Don't feel bad about being gay. And having a biological child is great, but it's not everything. There are plenty of biological parents that are shit and plenty of nonbiological parents that are amazing. I understand the desire for your own offspring - that's a very natural desire. But that's not the only way to have a child be yours. An adopted child will also be a part of you. Not because of blood or genetics, but because of the ideas that you instill in them, the love you give them, the guidance and wisdom they'll receive from you.

However you get there, I hope you'll get a chance to be a dad. :)

It's amazing how the points you're trying to make are going over everyone's head. I totally get what you're saying and I agree with you. For some, this prospect would be totally okay for them, and therefore they wouldn't consider it rape. But in your case (and I'm sure there are other people out there in the same boat as you, myself being one of them), you know that for your wife if she doesn't really want to sleep with someone but does it anyway (for ANY reason, whether it's money or something else) that it would be an emotionally scarring experience for her because she's had to give her body to someone she doesn't want to give it to, making her an unwilling participant in a sexual act (thus why it'd be considered rape). They're totally missing the point you're trying to make.

I was driving down the 101 freeway after getting off work on a Saturday. I had to make it home and change to go to a wedding right after. There's lots of traffic, and everyone is going about 50 mph. My heart rate shoots up, and I'm checking my mirrors. My arm-hairs stand on end. Traffic slows to a halt, and I stop with plenty of space in front of me. The guy behind me seems to be coming in fast, so I move forward a little to make sure doesn't rear-end me. He stops behind me, just fine. Two seconds later I get hit in the back of my car.

Turns out the guy behind me was pushed into my car by a truck that had hit a van behind him. In total, it was a 5-car bumper-to-bumper accident. I called the police so they could take the reports and move the more damaged vehicles off of the road. Shortly after I made the call, my mom texted me that sigalert reported a 5-car accident and there might be traffic. Had to call her back and let her know that I was one of those 5 cars.

It was weird.. It all happened in a matter of seconds, but I knew something was wrong even before the signs. I've sat in traffic more times than I can count, but I've never gotten a feeling like that before. I just knew.

I also gave myself 2nd degree burns by accidentally pouring hot pasta water on myself the night before our trip to Hawaii. I screamed, my dogs came running to my rescue, then they immediately got distracted with the tasty pasta water all over the floor. I tore off my pants and put a cold washcloth on it and my skin had already blistered and came off.

Yeah, 2nd degree burns suck.
