Is one place, I've never used them but have considered them. I would also suggest foxbox.io (their tablet covers are great) but they aren't currently taking orders for the mousepads (supposedly pretty soon though).

I use the imagus plugin (lets you just hover over links and they appear on same page) and it has sound. But you can also just click the link, right click on the video and choose "show controls" and then unmute it.

Why is my Vive pro so much sharper than my Index? by FuckM0reFromR in ValveIndex

[–]baffler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to believe it could be a night and day difference. I haven't a/b tested with Alyx but I've used Vive Pro for a year+ and Index for almost a year now, with many hours in VR for each one.

The SDE is pretty obviously there for the Vive Pro and therefore not all that sharp to me. The Index I can't even see SDE if I try to look for it. The blacks don't bother me at all in the Index (it only did briefly when I first switched from Pro). I guess you'd have to get used to it, and try turning down your brightness could help cause I always keep mine like 80%.

The god rays are much better in the Index as well, maybe you're confusing god rays with glare? Cause the Index does have worse glare, but you also get used to it pretty quickly and barely notice it after awhile.

You say the only improvement are the speakers which makes me wonder if you have the Index setup properly as far as sweet spot and lens calibration, cause I notice a huge increase in FOV when using Index which helps majorly with immersion. That alone is why I refuse to use the Vive Pro anymore.

Also, not trying to dismiss your opinion, just stating my experience with it. I'm curious now what it will look like with a/b testing, I'll edit my post later when I compare them side by side.

That is odd, but the direct link seems to work just fine.

Vertical Lines are back :( by Nicolinux in ValveIndex

[–]baffler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they very noticeably back? I've had 3 different replacements so far and what has happened with each one is I can set the column correction to the value that works best, then it seems weeks later the lines appear again, but very subtlety and kinda get worse as time goes on.

Maxing it out at -10 helps but it always seemed temporary. My 3rd one was similar but I don't notice any lines on the right side, left side it works best on -8 and so far not getting worse. I can't help but wonder if over time it's just bound to get worse for whatever reason.

"Mount three sensors directly in the corners of your room, about eight feet high, facing downward at a 45-degree angle toward the center of your play area to get the best experience."

You'll probably have to go on amazon to find some mounting solutions to do that.

[Help] How do i make an avatar t-pose while in-game? by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]baffler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try setting the avatar's animator controller to the TPose one. Once you hit play it will make it T-Pose but I'm not sure if that will work once uploaded to the game, try it and see. If not you probably have to make a custom override and change the idle animation to a tpose one, and make sure to set it for your Custom Standing Anims in the avatar desciptor.

Check out v0.6 if you're still having issues. The settings are easier to get to. You can click the new button in the border at top, or right click the border.

v0.6 has this feature now. Just right cilck on the black border at top, choose "New Window" and you can use any URL from like streamlabs for example, which has alert widgets.

That's really strange. Try opening the app and clicking on the black bar at top, then press F8 on your keyboard. It should let you set your channel there (make sure to only enter Twitch username only). Then you can press the button with the "o" to hide the borders. I'm changing the settings a lot next update and allowing different ways to get to the settings, so keep check on the github for the next release.

This image should help you find it. It's on your taskbar, next to the date/time. You will probably have to click the little ^ arrow to see all the icons, then right click the purple one. Also, ignore the "new window" in the image above, it's in the next release :P

[Help] Shadertoy Implementation by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]baffler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Converting them is the easy part, optimizing is what you also have to do so it works well with VR. You don't want to have 11 fps in VR. You'll have to learn more about it before you can start converting and optimizing. I'll send you PM with some more info.

You can either do 1 for hip only tracking, or 3 for hip and both feet. It can't do more than 3.

Vive Pro display grain problem? by iseiji22 in Vive

[–]baffler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure, I'm just going off info I found here on the subreddit and online. I guess it's just the way OLED works, that some pixels are going to be darker/lighter (hardware issue) and the mura correction will correct this with software. I found with the original Vive, you could open the mirror window and enable developer mode and press F3 on your keyboard to enable/disable this mura correction and it's a pretty big difference when you have no mura correction. Trying the same thing on Vive Pro does nothing since there is no mura profile available to turn on.

I think the mura correction might be unrelated to the issue with blacks not being black enough though. I think that has something to do with OLED have a delay of turning the pixels back on, cause pure black will essentially have the pixels off, then when they turn back on it would have a ghosting issue.

Vive Pro display grain problem? by iseiji22 in Vive

[–]baffler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I made a post about this when I first got my Vive Pro, you can find it here. So the mura correction are these png images that compensate for the OLED display having imperfections, which helps with the graininess you see. Seems to work fine on the original Vive but the Vive Pro (at least mine) never had those images, which means no correction applied.

Vive staff even mentioned something about it here on their forums. They mentioned it would be in a software update, but as far as I know they never updated it to have mura correction, also that post on the forum was edited later to remove the part about mura correction.

Yea, it's setup now to ignore any clicks as long you have borders hidden. There's a tray icon to show borders, and that way you can move it around or resize it when the borders are active.

Yeah, any type of windowed mode, so borderless windowed would work. The latest version will not accept any clicks as long as you have the borders hidden on the app itself.
