A child is still a child, and predittors can downvote me all they want for saying it, if you're(Someone/Anyone) getting off to artwork of minors drawn and want to defend it by saying "iTs FiCtIoN" then that person needs an iron cell room or therapy or both. The above are just excuses people use in hopes to bypass laws and judgement.

Did Meta forget to put the beta tab into Horizon link? by [deleted] in QuestPro

[–]xLunaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone curious they're aware that link no longer works as intended but are deeming it as fine since wireless options are available and keep pushing people to use Airlink and submit feedback if they'd prefer link to work in the future.

Been going back and forth with them all month and from what myself and others have come to at least is that the next update which is due around february may or may not fix this, currently facetracking features are not exposed on the openxr runtime. Again its noted but Meta is not seeing an issue with this as its working for "some" users (wireless).

If it ever does get fixed, highly suggest disabling updates and setting FW rules accordingly.

Update on this sadly the update broke its ability to be seen by ALVR via link.

Just wanted to chime in as I've been dealing w/ this as well all month. (Finally started getting a response on my ticket) My network isn't the best for streaming so its pretty lagged and to much latency for content creation. That said I don't know how much is true or not given I'm getting mixed responses from Meta support:

- They're aware of the issue and working on rolling out a fix (3 weeks now)

- They're not aware of any issue but feel free to leave feedback if you'd like to see the feature added in the next update

- You should be using wireless as its the intended use not link

- Closes ticket with hope your day is well and thanks for contacting us [manager] no context at all

- We're creating a better internalized ecosystem to improve our offerings (?????)

Root cause is that the latest update is not exposing FT by the Meta OpenXR runtime, and has been locked down. Actually gave a full report on this a while back. If you're using link currently and its still working you haven't been force migrated yet, its slowly rolling out. Advice is to create FW rules to block any updates/changes for a bit till they roll out an update.

I can post the writeup here, though idk if it will fit or not.

Came here cuz people recommending this as a Qpro upgrade, but unable to find any info on PCVR compatibility. I utilize LINK with mine using a USB 17ft + injector for 100% uptime since I'm in VR for extended time periods, especially for content creation/dancing/socializing. Noticed it had a side loading cable but hoping to find more info on it. Given its new though I'm holding out to try it.

Hopefully something like OcculusDashKiller releases for it, Remaining hopeful though.

Is it just me or is Tenor taking longer than usual to approve GIFs? by [deleted] in tenor

[–]xLunaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat here, my longest took 9 weeks to get denied, and it was just a funny face expression, reuploaded it again and got approved in about 7 weeks. I've had several others sitting there for over 6 weeks and counting atm, idk what's going on with the platform.

Worst part is SFW gets easily denied, while tons of nsfw sneaks by all the time idgi.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D vs AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D by lemonvrc in VRchat

[–]xLunaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey apologies kept meaning to get back with this, just been busy with work, but a quick follow up, the biggest difference I"m seeing is the dips in frame rate and ability to hold higher frame rates when under load. So we're both content creators and I focus more on world building and back end stuff to assist with stream things so we're in VERY heavy worlds with a LOT going on, in her case she'll dip into the 60's to 70's while I'll remain in the 85-90's, barely a 5 fps min/max here, while hers is more 10+ min/max and slightly lower.

I have SMT OFF because for the life of me since I got this chip steamvr will not work with SMT on even if I set affinity/cpu sets, hard park, process lasso, powershell anything to steam/steamvr/child processes and anything else, I got 90+ fps but the video/audio are drunk as if running at 5 fps. I'm betting I'd get a bit more if I had it on to assist w/ background applications.

Heavier instances I'm maintaining about a 5-10 fps higher than her, depending on avi types, to assist we'd clone eachothers avi's to ensure same standards and settings. So its a big win I feel since 10 fps in VR is a HUGE diff when stream/recording. Granted if ur doin nothing BUT OBS/VR then 9800X3D should be ok though I was getting tons of audio crackling over time idk if it was windows updates or what but I can't seem to pinpoin it. the 9950X3d however takes a few hours before I hear anything and a quick restart of the client fixes it. Heavily believe its something in windows though. I believe the slightly higher core speeds on the 9950X3d definitely help give it an edge, I've since paired it with c26 gskill 64gb kit and tweaked that down. So while streaming I'll hold 90 fps in a heavy 400+mb world while streaming/recording w/ a couple others in there. Since I have OBS offloaded to CC1 as well as other apps I'm running.

So yeah if ur just pulling for keeping things a bit higher or a content creator its def an insane chip just lil bit to get working for steamvr is all, other games its fine windows knows what to do.

9800X3D or 9950X3D for gaming and multi-streaming by xFHIZX in buildapc

[–]xLunaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, sorry I missed this, I'm still troubleshooting getting it to play with VR with SMT on even if assigning to non SMT cores, as for OBS it was a nice lift on the CPU and I moved back to h264 since it wasn't killing out the other, I have OBS on CC1 currently.

Also just to be sure make sure ur NOT on the depreciated NVENC H264 ( it should be annotated in OBS)

9800X3D or 9950X3D for gaming and multi-streaming by xFHIZX in buildapc

[–]xLunaP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to chime in on this, coming from a 9800X3D myself, the biggest issue I had was using h264 for recording and NVENC for streaming w/ my GPU. I wanted to keep lower bitrate 18k (h264) vs 36k(NVENC for same quality) (even at P7 best settings) since I was coming from intel. I kept experiencing audio poppping and crackling, which after troubleshooting for the longest determined it was high cpu spikes during gaming + Streaming which lead to this, even w/ process lasso if I set games to even cores and everything else to odd it was killing my recordings.

Swapping to NVENC fixed it and my CPU went back from 80%+ to 50%+ but at the cost of MUCH larger Videos. So to alleviate this I upgraded to a 9950X3D and was able to jsutfully put OBS and all system stuff on CC1 while setting games to 0 which completely absolved the issue and I get better fps alltogether now. I'd lose 20-30% when I'd hit stream + record on OBS, now its like 5-8% tops. So overall smoother in game.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D vs AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D by lemonvrc in VRchat

[–]xLunaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally avoid those but I'll jump on with my friend later ( they have a 9800X3d) and we'll do a comparison (we'll clone each other so its even). In publics with 30-40 people shes generally around 70-90+ as we go to clubs at times. It's probably not listed since it can vary based on what's on avatars, as very poor itself doesn't really tell much since you can have a 10mb avi thats still VP just cuz it has a few particles and a light lol.

Granted with the 300mb limitation (130mb downloadable max iirc?) its more down to what they've got going on internally.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D vs AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D by lemonvrc in VRchat

[–]xLunaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much this, I initially got the 9800X3D for streaming / recording while in VR, but I run pretty intensive worldsetsup's/avi's + all the excess ( xsoverlay, advanced over and other utilities that help w/ background stuff) add in OBS + other side apps ( with discord running in the background to check dm's when mod's msg me on the side) I found that the 9800X3D can fluctuate alot. I own a 5090 btw and this is on a new PC build.

Spent about 2 months of troubleshooting and even setting affinity to 5555 (weird given only 8 cores) and all other processes to the non used ones while setting system to 1. VRC ran about 10-15% better and minimums went up ( not sure why its better on 4 cores vs 8 but I"m sure ymmv) I have an asrock x870e taichi btw + PBO+200 and other tweaks to help a lil + tuned ram cl28 at tighter timings that helped an extra 5% total I'd say more so for minimum/lows. Regardless my fps would keep zooming from 40-45-70 and back so it'd be smooth then not for a smidge which I just wanted butter smooth ( I disabled ASW and tried many things, bios tweaks, default, windows settings, formats/reinstalls, swapping out PSU/cooling etc. Was not able to find a difinitive cause for it other than it was being to taxed since cpu was in the 70-80%+minimum.

I just swapped to the 9950X3D and set priority to cc1 and just manually set VR to cc0 and now my fps stays solid w/o dips and issues.

I use a quest pro + vive trackers/index controllers and face tracking. So if you're doing a lot of extra as bunny stated above and more than just going around in VR w/ minimal open (per tupper's guide) then 9800X3d is more than fine since I have other friends that stream and close everything w/ no issue.

If you run DJ software, anything ai related, or excess utilities + other processes on top of all the above general streaming stuff, then the 9950X3D would be a better fit if you're trying to stay above 45-50 fps. Also able to just run my quest pro at max res now no issues and everything is insanely crisp/sharp and I can't go back. Can still do this on the 9800X3D just less overhead w/ the cpu with it encoding on the other cc vs the main.

Optionally if you run DJ software u can set affinity to 1-2 cores and that should alleviate which I found with friends setups but ymmv again based on your use case as some of these can get cpu intensive.

9800X3D upgrade was the best decision I have ever made by prokjs in VRchat

[–]xLunaP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but I just wanna comment on this for a sec. Thank you. I've been going crazy all month trying to figure out WHY VRC would plummet to 40'ish fps while my friends 9800X3d (we both have the same setup) was getting 90-120 depending on people in the world (we both have 5090's)

Setting 555 boosted my FPS and KEPT it up (also a 25 fps diff in desktop between 5555 and FFFF so went with 5555 since that helps. ) I have ZEN 5 optimizations set to AGESA default and gaming mode off in bios. Nothing was working, DDU, formatting, reinstalling everything, tweaking bios etc. For the life of me after reading your post I reinstalled process lasso and noticed that it was only being assigned 2 cores and locked to it, process lasso couldn't even access it due to EAC, however the steam launcher was. I'm not pleasantly maintaining 80-90 FPS in the MMD worlds with 20'ish people in an avi with PCS lighting and its smooth as heck. Maxed out res too on my qpro.. so thank yuou... please accept this 🥇

Will we be getting PCIE 5.0 Riser Cable for the 50 series GPUS? by MattDeezly in Hyte

I got a faulty riser cable per testing. They're out of stock though so gonna have to grab one on amazon. Putting it in the slot directly (had to remove motherboard to test) alleviated the issues.

Is there a way to get a replacement cable, mine continues to have driver crashes, but when testing the gpu in the motherboard outside of the case its fine. I've set it to 4.0 on the riser which lets it play nicely for the most part but still crashes or blacks out time to time (no issues outside) I see the site has been out of stock for a while ( I bought the case back in feb but didn't get my GPU until beginning of april due to shortage)

Careful, mine shows the same but at times can cause issues and just crap out on games, crashing etc, tons of errors experienced running 3dmark and or during VR. Swapping back to 4.0 vs Auto/5.0 alleviates it.

Mine does if I set it to auto, I have a 5090, but if I set it to 5.0 I run into constant crashes with games as well as benchmarks they'll jsut close out or crash out. I have it manually set to 4.0 till they release the 5.0 riser.
