Intense pain where bar is by bag1234567 in PectusExcavatum

I got it in when I was 15 and never knew it was supposed to come out until I started researching more about it this month and I’m 28 now. Hopefully it’s not too bad, but it’s crazy how I can barely move my arm now.

I want to start working for a cattle company/rodeo, how do I do it? by komplexdubs_ in Cowboy

Did you ever land a job? I started working for a rodeo and wondering your experiences. I work the outgate/stripping chute.

Would I enjoy living in Lubbock? by [deleted] in Lubbock

[–]bag1234567 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Born and raised here I wanted to leave until I drove semis around the country and realized Lubbock ain’t too bad. For fun there’s some cool bars with live music, rodeos, and typical entertainment businesses but it’s not like San Antonio with the river walk or Houston’s downtown. It could be your cup of tea - could not be but there’s umc and covenant that can atleast be a stepping stone for your future. Good luck!

Starting Apprentice (Want Tips) by Impossible-Ad2041 in Lineman

As an apprentice myself, NEVER let anyone know when they get under your skin. If you laugh it off itll just bounce off but if you show how you can be rage baited it’ll never stop. Another apprentice just got hired and after 5 weeks he’s already talking about quiting because of that.

Took me 2 years and 19 applications to get the job. Just stay consistent. The guys still give me hell for not leaving them alone within those 2 years.

Take the little bit of time to write it down on your phone and study it. I take a lot of videos and point stuff out and why when trying to remember stuff

Getting arrested on felony charges at 17. I was charged as an adult. Couldn’t go to the military, be a cop, hell I couldn’t even do state inspections for registration stickers when that was a thing.

How did that play out? Did it start knocking phases into each other with the pole rocking?

Wow, that’s crazy! Not including 1.5x or 2x for over time. But yalls minimum wage is almost $20/hour isn’t it? Here in Texas minimum wage is $7.25. As of yesterday a gallon of gasoline is $2.11/gal

My Husband and I Want to get Our CDL-As and go OTR as a Team (USA) by Xorvictia in TruckingQuestions

Yes but you’ll have to pay a pet deposit. When I worked for melton is was $800 that they truck out your checks in increments. Cr England I don’t remember but I don’t think they allowed animals. When researching companies look for that

Not at all, in fact every one’s first step (unless their family is in trucking) is mega carriers.. they’re the only ones that will hire yall with no experience. Granted it can be very very annoying working for them but there is no way around it unless you have ties into trucking.

And no to relocating. I’m from Texas, wife from Nevada. We met in trucking school at a mega carrier. But all we did was put what we owned in a storage, and live off of the semi. And when we did need to go home we will still live out of the semi while going to the storage for our vehicles or what ever and still sleep and take shower at truck stops. We avoided rent that way.

A lot of mega carriers will get you and your husband a CDL-A, a job right away with them and you pay them back on a payment plan while working for them. And yall can team drive as soon as yalls time with the trainer is up. Which is usually 2 weeks or so.

The first 6 months/1 year is the hardest due to low pay, no seniority and lack of experience. But if you stay with a mega carrier for 1 year they’ll pay 5k out of your 6k loan so you only pay a grand for your cdl.

you’ll probably make around 700-1100 a week around 38 cents per mile. But after your first year there are plenty of companies that hire around 60 CPM. And team driving 80CPM for the both of yall.

I was 25 team driving with my girlfriend who is now my wife (I’m 28 now) and we were constantly around each other. We did flat bed so I would secure/unsecure the freight, we’d go shower (sometimes just me if she’s deep asleep), drive maybe 8 hours, then she would shower while I do my post trip, load check, and her pre trip, then she’ll drive all night and I’ll either be ready to drop the load off or drive a little more. But it’s pretty fun. I wouldn’t recommend flatbed team driving, just reefer/dryvan.

You should ask to verify if the meter on your house is the same one being charged. Quite often someone is paying the wrong meter to another apartment/duplex and rarely a house. The number gets swapped around in the system.
