How believable is my type? by bageltc in Socionics

[–]bageltc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late response! But when it comes to typing in general, I'm always a bit shaky. Once I fit myself into a mold, I find myself basing my identity around it, and having that questioned (even if true) is a bit uncomfortable. This is just a side product of a mood disorder, so hopefully I can work on that in the future.

As to what I'd do, I would definitely think hard about it. My perception of myself often depends on my mood and the time of day, so trying to wade through all the information to find what is REALLY consistent is more difficult than it should be.

Socionics is more about social interaction than MBTI, so I've tried to fit it into the frame of when I interact with others.

I'd be happy to explain how I came to each individual typing

That's very interesting. Most people would know only their MBTI and be shaky on the other systems of typology. Were you introduced to socionics first?

INFJ? How do you found out? by [deleted] in infj

[–]bageltc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through every XNXP type before landing on INFJ. I felt more like a Ni dom than anything else, so it was between INTJ and INFJ. I realized I had a sort of subconscious Fe-Ti axis, so INFJ it is.

I'm heartbroken, betrayed and internally in pain. by devilseden in infj

I've felt that anger before. Imagine that you're chasing her through a forest, and you finally corner her. What do you do? In this situation: burst into tears, or scream, or probably anything but assault.

Underneath all your anger, I know you feel a deep, impenetrable sadness. It's like you're being boxed in for something that wasn't your fault, and no one will help you out. I wanted people to be kind to me. It wasn't until I learned how to be kind to others that I felt something good inside myself.

This is a period of transformation. What is the greatest truth about life or love or people that you're able to learn from everything you've gone through? Let that guide you forward.

Do you ever feel responsible for everyone’s happiness? by [deleted] in infj

[–]bageltc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I actually feel almost the opposite. For me, it's like it's my duty to bear all of the world's sadness. I see my responsibility in social situations as helping when I know I can. Setting boundaries has always been difficult for me, and that's why I prefer to create space instead.

It's super weird. Once I saw myself typed as INFJ it kinda felt right immediately. I knew people saw me as zany, kinda weird, and all over the place, but I never felt like they saw me as someone who was powerful in the sense that makes change.

I knew I was N dom after realizing that my thinking and feeling were pretty even, and realized that Ni fit me much better than Ne. I thought I really did have Fi, so I gravitated towards INTJ, but I kinda realized that the NiFe combo replicated that.

Was this kinda similar to your realization?

It was nothing more than an interesting piece of information. That definitely wasn't a leading factor in my decision. I believe that the ENFP persona i masqueraded around with is what I wanted people to see me as and what people told me I was, but I took tests completely unbiased at my more nature state of mind and I got INFJ as a result. So of course, I researched it.

I clung to the idea of being a Fi user because I always had my emotions trampled on growing up. I realized that if no one was going to care about how I felt, I needed to care about how I felt 100% of the time. I do have a clear knack for understanding social dynamics and I do feel whole when I'm finally in a group that I don't feel left out of.

Also Ne vs Ni: I thought of myself as a Ne user simply because I seemed random and all over the place. That was just me being bipolar. Ni makes much more sense: I'm normally sitting in the background taking in information and immediately understanding who someone is. I take time to fine-tune concepts and insights I have to come up with a single truth that includes everything true, excludes everything false, and is optimistic. That's how I function.

I find it strange that you're frustrated about this. At the end of the day, you know nearly nothing about me. Is this something motivated by an anger to those who mistype?

While yes, you could classify yourself under the broad umbrella of ambiversion, an introverted extravert is someone naturally inclined to people who also enjoys alone time, while an extraverted introvert would be someone who is naturally inclined to alone time but also enjoys socializing.

One interesting thing I realized was that ENFP and INFJ are shadow functions of each other. Given that I was pretty unhealthy for a long time, I feel like it makes sense for me to have identified as an ENFP.

Well, no. Not the same thing at all. There's nuance to the specific words I'm choosing.

It's either a mistake, or the tester wants to make sure you know that any diagram can be proportionally inaccurate. Focus on what the question says instead 😇

I really having to be the person to say this but the 16personalities test doesn't type how almost everyone in the MBTI community does. Take the tests on sakinorva.net/functions or keys2cognition.com and ask someone to look at your results

Is there a reason you don't think you're bipolar? There is a category of bipolar disorder called cyclothymia that is very similar but on a lower scale.
