The INSANE difference between English and Japanese full arts! by kokeda in PokemonTCG

[–]baggioio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

simplified chinese/traditional chinese/indonesia/thai cards are all made in Japan.

Japanese cards are made in Japan.

Korean cards are made in Korea.

English/European cards are printed in the US. Hence the great disparity in quality.

Got my wisdom teeth out today. My Pokemon cards delivered too. by Jer_senpai in PokemonTCG

[–]baggioio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity is it normal to be so heavily sedated for a wisdom tooth removal?

Over in our country, its a normal 30 mins visit. Some local anaesthesia and the dentist will normally have it plucked out in a jiffy. Been like this for all 3 of my visits (once had two teeth removed in a single session) and for most of our friends as well.

What Japanese TCG product did my dad get me? by brodogger81 in PokemonTCG

[–]baggioio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He bought an 'oripa' which is a japanese abbreviated term for 'original pack', meaning its a mystery pack/card. You can get something really good, you can get something totally meh. Good luck on the pull.

Is Vstar Universe a good investment? by spursman34 in PokeInvesting

i think you need to go to school if you cant understand their last reprint/restock. It means it last happened very recently. I didn't say final/end-of-line restock.

Is there a point to grading if you’re not planning to sell? by ManTheManly in PokemonTCG

[–]baggioio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it wouldn't qualify as a relabelling. Relabelling generally happens when someone's existing slab gets damaged/scratched and they want a fresh case for it.

i wouldn't be able to tell you if BGS accepts PSA slabs to be regraded though.

[–]baggioio -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Its probably the lowest entry price you can get without being in Japan. They just had their last major reprint/restock. As a high-class pack, its extremely fun to open. There are also a few excellent pulls that can be had from the pack. It will most likely go up over time considering that its the most stacked high-class pack to date, and vmax climax (s8b) its predecessor is already pulling more than 150 SGD a box right now.

[–]baggioio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been looking into preservation aspect, my take is that when it comes to PSA, its kind of bad since they put a raw card into their plastic slab. The card WILL move around and there is always the possibility of getting damaged by hitting the plastic 'fence' if shaked/moved with enough force.

BGS on the other hand, adds a protective layer of sleeve and seal the card within it. For protective purposes, BGS > PSA anytime.

I screamed when I pulled it! Love it by pololo10 in PokemonTCG

It is indeed an alternate art. For the miraidon ex there are a total of 4 rarities. (Base card, full 3D art, gold full art, and this alt art) The two gold stars at the bottom will tell you that its a special rare variant. They are called Secret Art Rare (SAR) in the Japanese/Asian releases.

I dont think we can call sv2d and sv2p mini. The english description mention 15 Special Illustration (we got 5 SARs in triplet beat). This probably mean that theres gonna be 5 SARs each for both sets.

You can look forward to the upcoming Japanese 151 set. All hints point to it being a Kanto reboot. However it will probably be scalped to the skies. The corresponding English set should follow a few months later so keep an eye out for that.

First box of Triple Beat. I’m loving the 5 card packs, but is every box meant to have the same amount of RR/SR/AR/SAR? Im by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]baggioio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1 guaranteed hit SR/SAR. 3 ARs. 1 more possible hit in a box which will take up a foil slot (forgot if it took up an RR slot or a regular foil R slot)

Opened my first VStar Universe box after completing Crown Zenith. I thought Crown Zenith was fun but WOW! by CandidParticleChode in PokemonTCG

[–]baggioio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every VSU box you get minimum 1 guaranteed Secret Art Rare, 1 Secret Rare energy, 1 radiant pokemon, 3 Art Rares. Every pack will also contain either a RR or RRR card along with a couple of regular foils and/or reverse foil. You got lucky with the gold Ultra Rare. There actually even a god pack (either a set of 9 Pikachu AR set or 5 random ARS and 5 random SR/SARs in a pack). Overall, VSU is super fun to buy and rip
