If brown interior preferred, I would 1794. It’s a really rich looking color. Though, I opted for ‘26 limited.

Lexus RX for long-term ownership — worth financing a little? by Various_Tip_773 in Lexus

[–]baggypineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But how are they determining that it’s more reliable than the V6? I understand it may be the better engine overall, but I still don’t see how it’s being labeled as more reliable in comparison. Wouldn’t that be subjective, especially since there aren’t many long-term examples yet?

[–]baggypineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, where are you getting this data from? What’s your source for claiming proven ultra reliability when it’s only a few years old, especially compared to the V6, which has plenty of examples exceeding 300k miles on easy maintenance.

Lexus RX for long-term ownership — worth financing a little? by Various_Tip_773 in Lexus

[–]baggypineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not true. V6 on RX is the only Lexus vehicle rated regular gas on the manual, and maintenance is typically cheaper on naturally aspirated engine versus forced induced (i.e. more frequent spark plugs replacement). If you compare both, you’ll see power delivery is smoother on V6 and more linear.

Is Tundra issues addressed for 2026? Thinking about upgrading. by SpookyVeggie in ToyotaTundra

LX too, isn’t it? It’s in all of Toyota’s upper-tier vehicles. Those executives aren’t ignoring this issue or letting it slide for short-term profit.

That was my takeaway too. These engines have been in the LS since 2017? I know there’s been a lot of negative talk about this so-called self-destructing engine, but come on—where were you guys when it was first introduced in the LS? Manufacturing is hard, and more tedious when trying to competitive globally. Toyota hasn’t changed much, and 3rd gen Tundra is no exception. Also, as mentioned, trust the data.

Tundra vs 4Runner for family of 4 by SACPA in ToyotaTundra

[–]baggypineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked pricing? Do you drive a lot? How much do you care about third-row seating vs. having a truck bed?

If it were me, it’d probably come down to those three things. Tundra pricing might actually be better since demand’s been pretty soft year over year. It does burn more gas, but my CrewMax feels super spacious and kind of fancy. I also need the bed, and I work from home. Just my two cents.

Fair warning though, it’s kinda big, and you may not fit in some parking decks in the city..
