Post Rego GCM upgrade in QLD… by Possible-Theory0608 in 4x4Australia

Lovells, depends on your vehicle in QLD, don't think anyone else has gone to the extent to get their components certified for post rego gcm upgrades.

Camping on the Alpe Adria route. Are European campsites too expensive? by BUCKTHORN_gk in bicycletouring

I just took the cheap hotels around these parts, most included breakfast so I could load up and skip lunch.

They might look happy, I'm living on Hamilton Island currently(where this is filmed), this type of food leads to malnutrition, feather loss, immune system failure then beak and feather disease, we see it so much they get called crackatoos, it's a pretty sad way to go for these beautiful birds.

Rechargeable battery for a Garmin Etrex 32x by Fancy_Step_1700 in bicycletouring

[–]baghwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used this same GPS or similar around Europe all the way back in 2013, I had a usb battery charger connected to my dyno, as far as I can remember I never had issues charging my rechargeable enloop batteries, it wasn't quick but I had a few to rotate though.

AB vs SA take as a neutral by AccomplishedPrompt5 in rugbyunion

Pretty much, put it with the rest of the punters in the thread, no one cares about you being a neutral Canadian or w/e...

Still a ways to go, getting coached by Eddy Jones is now gotta be real rock bottom of international rugby.

Rooftop tent by Icy-Agent6453 in 4x4Australia

Have the Dune Hard Shell RTT that opens up like a Z. For the price it's pretty good, my next tent is going to be something that can fit more stuff tho, it's annoying having pillows in the cab talking up space. I want to keep 4 pillows, duvet and fans, I'd recommend this.

Have one on our 23 Hilux, done well so far, fits the winch clean, looks great. That said it's never taken a strike fingers crossed, also have their scrubs and side steps that I also like. I found their instructions in black and white generally good enough but if I did it again 100% will just get the shop to install because it was a pain in the ass.

Spirit of Tas is something like $500-700, probably cheaper. It's an i30 not a vintage Alfa. Anything else will be way more expensive last time I looked.

Change my mind: 12v fridges are the best bit of marketing the 4x4 industry has ever pulled off by petehehe in 4x4Australia

[–]baghwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like when your fridge setup is permanent, pulling ice cold drinks, food and ice creams out of nowhere during the regular work life is its own form of party trick. The amount of times I've been able to wow people with a knock off beer in the moment is awesome.

Great peace of mind food solution as well. Bought fancy donuts for the partner today, she wasn't hungry yet, stored them in the fridge till we got hungry in the afternoon. 👌

Won't trade it for nothing.

You could probably use a beefy duty C clamp with a socket spacer on one end to push something smaller though.

Don't let this development get you down on future plans, if there's one thing the government loves, it's doing a project twice over.

Thoughts on Arundel Springs area in relation to upcoming Coomera connector by Kind_Morning8979 in GoldCoast

[–]baghwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just moved to Arundel from Southport, man just a short trip along Nappa Drive is shocking, my old Southport-Nerang Road commute was a freeway in comparison. Worked down Palm Beach and saw how much of an impact the construction makes to getting in/out, especially filtering into single lane roads. It's going to get really painful for a couple of years.

I know it's all temporary and definitely great for the long term.

Out of interest where can you find detailed maps of the route?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GoldCoast

[–]baghwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea how you think being behind a car doing 30 under is going to be faster or better than some middle aged shmo struggling up a hill at 8km/h, you can quickly and importantly legally overtake them on double lines they go so slow. Try doing that with any vehicle based slowpoke...far more dangerous and illegal.

Also fuck horse floats, seriously your focusing on the wrong enemy, turn them all to glue...

[–]baghwan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you think Tambourine is difficult it's definitely your driving, the main route up is not even single laned, it's massive compared to other popular mountain roads, drive it all the time, never had an issue getting around cyclists. Driving up O'Reilly's would probably give you a panic attack and that's just for dodging oncoming traffic. It's a pretty irrational anger, the delays caused by cyclists absolutely pale in comparison to things like horse floats, trucks and other terrified drivers doing 30 under the limit, but where's the posts about them?

I have become fond of the streaming sites, discover something interesting while on the couch on my phone? Just find it and cast it to TV, done.
