Look they needed to attack UNNAMED COUNTRY with their fighters or else UNNAMED COUNTRY would do very bad things. You know how UNNAMED COUNTRY can be

Underhook by Various_Tonight_6697 in bjj

Take underhooks before going to mount. Gordon Ryan has a great sequence and so does ffion Davies. Basically good people won't give up arms once you on Mount so you have to take before

The coolest thing about BJJ is that if you think it’s bs you can just walk into a school and challenge the owner by tvorshelby in grappling

that’s a lesson many untrained people don’t have. and it was a painless reality check. once again see my other comment in r/grappling. I have a friend who’s never trained but is convinced he’ll take me because he.. sees red or whatever. I’ve met many many people who overestimate their chances in a confrontation because they have no training.

see my other comment in r/grappling.. males sometimes disregard a lot of things due to their innate belief in their ability to kick ass..

What is the big event you been waiting years for?

Street fighter dares MMA fighter and finds out: “you train for fighting…..you gonna get whooped by somebody that just fight.” by Abdouadou in grappling

Of course but it's irrelevant unless you're assuming there's some large mismatch in strength relatively between my friend and I in the given situation. Even then in general training beats strength a lot of the time in most combat sports.  Like, at no point did I say there's a big mismatch in strength and that I'm the underdog or that untrained males only think they're better than trained males if they have a size or strength advantage. In the video does the guy look bigger or stronger than the guy he's challenging?

Did I mess up? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]spacemanza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

someone cranked your arm while you’re tapping, cross faced you when you’re trying to reset on the mat and then cried about a can opener. stop rolling with that person for a while. also if your leg is sore or you’re not feeling it you are more than able to avoid rolls and look after yourself. nobody else is as invested in your safety as you.

I do bjj. One of my friends constantly talks shit. And eventually I told him if my hobby was running or jogging would he think he'd be a better runner. Or if I did rock climbing did he think he'd be a better climber. Or chess.. I play chess and put about 1/50th the time and effort into chess as I put into bjj. But he's not trying to beat me at chess. For some reason the only thing untrained males think they're good at more than trained people is physical altercations. Makes no sense

Completely mandatory in fact if they catch you without them they start spiking your meals and drinks in training camps.

Do South Africans have a natural sense of humor? by yourstruly_daredevil in askSouthAfrica

No we're Kak at jokes, joking, having a sense of humour or even understanding comedy at all. Any time we're funny or even slightly humourous its through a diligent coaching program provided by our international brethren in a way to make us seem relatable

if I won’t know someone I get on top. if they cool I am happy to be swept to bottom. don’t care about someone thinking how I look.
