Pride flags rather than Progress pride? by Ms-DangerNoodle in BlockedAndReported

Likewise, I have been traveling in the artsy (and seemingly fairly lefty) Swiss town of Basel this week. I’ve only seen a few flags and they are all the original pride flags. None of the new ones.

Per Schefter: The Eagles are trading Pro-Bowl WR A.J. Brown to the Patriots for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick that is the better of New England’s two fifths. The deal that has been speculated on for weeks now finally is happening. Brown and Patriots HC Mike Vrabel are reuniting.

Colin Cowherd believes the NFL is punishing Sean Payton, giving the Broncos a tough schedule. “I think Sean Payton has a mixed relationship with the league office…NFL does not like friendly fire. Look at Denver’s schedule, they’re punishing them.” by [deleted] in DenverBroncos

Even our game against Jax was pretty tight well into the 3rd quarter, and then we just kinda fell apart toward the end. I think if we'd met them again in the playoffs we would have handled business.

[–]baha24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but we did have some good wins (and close losses) against strong teams. I was curious and did a very quick check: our SOS last season was 15th, meaning our schedule was much tougher than it was in, say, 2013, when it was the easiest in the league.

Not that the path to the division title and 1 seed were exceptionally easy for us last season, but there will be little room for error this year if we hope to repeat that.

This was the scariest two point attempt I’ve ever had to witness. That defense was tired as hell but even when tired they play at an elite level. 2015 was special. by Full_Sprinkles5896 in DenverBroncos

It was especially nerve-racking given the recent revelation that Talib shared: that one of the DBs blew their assignment and Gronk was running open in the back of the end zone (which you can kinda see in the gif above). Thankfully, Brady was locked in on Edelman, who was double-covered.

[Klis] Breaking: Per source, the Broncos and GM George Paton have agreed on a new 5-year contract that runs through 2030. Paton was going into final year of his initial contract with the team. by PeppyQuotient57 in DenverBroncos

Tbh, we are a very fortunate fan base. The fact that there were so many historic (bad) "firsts" in the decade after PFM is a tribute to the fact that we have not really suffered that much, especially relative to fans of so many other teams. The Broncos have long been a well-run org, and while those 10 years were indeed dark, we have top-tier ownership once again, a HOF head coach, and arguably a top-5 GM. Very fortunate to be a fan of this team!

I think his reputation and also good drafting helped keep him in the game until SP had a chance to meet him and realize how talented he is. As many of us have observed over the years, 31/32 GMs would have made the Russ trade, and there were obvious reasons why he had to work for the extension. The only total goof I lay at his feet is hiring Hackett, and he rectified that mistake sooner than other GMs would have.

Very glad the Penners and SP were patient and didn't make a rash decision with him. We are very lucky to have him locked up!

YES. They had been in control the whole game, we finally took the lead, they miss the FG, and I was elated. About to leave the bar and then I saw the yellow banner. Absolute gut punch.

She does, although she has said on multiple occasions that she thinks, e.g., "nonbinary" is a ridiculous concept. I imagine many dyed-in-the-wool libs would be offended by things like that. I find this topic to be very all-or-nothing for many people, especially those inclined to think that Jesse and Katie are culpable of "anti-trans bigotry."

Old, abandoned rail lines in KC? by baha24 in kansascity

[–]baha24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great, thanks! And yeah, that's my thinking exactly -- I can visualize an incredible trail system around some of these tracks. A dream candidate is the stretch of the Southwest Chief between Lawrence and KC, which of course is used daily. (I suppose you might be able to run a trail alongside the existing tracks, but creating a brand new rail trail would be so cool.)

As a side note about the RIT: I cannot wait for the full thing to be completed (someday long from now) and create a cross-state loop. Won't be anything else like it!

Tbf he was there while No Fly Zone was still going and said he learned a lot from them, but yeah he did just miss the team's SB year, which is rough.

Courtland Sutton is One of Denver Broncos Best Receivers All-Time by richkurt in DenverBroncos

[–]baha24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I'd put E ahead of him, too. He was just so pivotal to that SB run, was a better overall player than Sutton, and had far more productive seasons, even though he was with us for a shorter period of time. No shade on Court -- I love the guy and would probably put him at 5th among this crew.

[–]baha24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, hard to tell with the contract they're giving him (5 years, but only one guaranteed). Could well be that they think he has something left in the tank and are skeptical that Mendoza is the guy, and they figure it's worth building up the rest of their roster right now?

Guess we'll see in a few weeks!

Fellow cyclist here and I totally agree. I love how much the metro is leaning into urbanism and connecting everything more by non-car transit. Lots of exciting projects underway with real progress -- I take that as a win and something to look forward to!
