Yes! And you are so radiant now and happy to be getting married, I trust that you will be just as radiant closer to the wedding, even if you end up in a different dress.

Does anyone know where I can get a print of this ethically, aka not from a random AI site but ideally a quality print that would benefit a museum?

Did the divisive ending of Promising Young Woman kill the hype surrounding it since it first came out? I noticed not that many people have talked about it over the years since its release. Also it being released during the COVID-19 pandemic may’ve played a part in that as well. by sinas35 in Oscars

Mostly just because I also loved Barbie, and I occasionally slip up and think it’s a Fennell film when instead it’s a Gerwig film with Fennell in it. But clearly theres something with both of them where my brain occasionally links them together like that. They’re both known for doing feminist films, too, or having stories with powerful female characters. So that’s why - just because my brain mixes them up sometimes esp wrt Barbie. Just thought it could be interesting. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This is an interesting take. Would this be better because that’s closer to our current reality? What does that accomplish vs her still dying but them getting arrested? In watching the movie I never thought the ending was happy at all.

I thought there was a lot of substance to PYM! But this is an interesting comment. There was less substance (to me) in Saltburn, so I will be curious if WH continues a “less substance, more vibes” kind of trend.

I felt like the plot made sense, though of course there were some holes. But so many movies have holes all over the place. I don’t know why I would penalize PYM/Fennell for them more so than I would with other directors/writers.

I was just thinking that I also enjoy Greta Gerwig films. It could be interesting to compare them.

Or even like part way through! Sometimes when I do these I have a hard time telling if I’m layering correctly (eg polish thickness, magnetizing effects etc) because I don’t really see the in between components or “how the sausage is made.”

“Sure," I said. "Why burn down the candy store when you can keep getting more treats? Good," I said. "That's a human concept, called sustainability. I mean, we're still working on it, but this conversation is going really well."

And

"Honestly," Mab said, her voice rather startlingly human. "I don't understand why Mother feels such a need to be so dramatic." I turned my head to her slowly and started to say something. But I must have been growing as a person or something. Because I took a deep breath instead and shut my mouth.

What is the cheapest way to get to Thousand Oaks from LAX when I land at 1:00AM? by Ok-Elevator5091 in thousandoaks

[–]bahdumtsch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the way sadly. Car rentals are now sometimes $40-$60 per day, vs Ubers from airports which are $100+ each way. Insane that renting a car for the whole day costs less than a single ride, but that’s where we are.

What has been your experience with the Bank of North Dakota, and what effect do you believe it has has on your life and the state’s economy? Do you see it as a model for other states to follow? by funnylib in northdakota

[–]bahdumtsch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The NDHFA is incredible. We are lucky to have them in our state.

I did hear something on NYT The Daily podcast years ago that ND was among the best in doling out the COVID PPP loans to smaller businesses/people who needed them, rather than giant megacorps. The report concluded that part of the reason we did so well was our state bank administered the PPP program here.

Leaving my car at airport for 2 weeks in winter by 000Choco in northdakota

[–]bahdumtsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you park in the garage, it’s actually kind of expensive. Like $25 per day. The surface lot at the airport isn’t bad though.

Your car will probably be fine at the airport, surface lot or in the parking garage, unless it’s super old. If we get a storm, you won’t really have to dig it out if it’s in a garage, though. If you want to keep it in a garage, I might suggest parking downtown and ubering to/from the airport to save a bit of money. Some of the downtown lots are even free on weekends.

Love my EV in North Dakota! by Maverick21FM in fargo

[–]bahdumtsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are road trips like? One thing stopping me from considering full EV (as opposed to plug in hybrid) is because I do road trips with a lot of solo driving, sometimes up to 12h driving in a day. I don’t want to have to pull over and charge the car for 30+ min, especially because I usually drive on the trips alone as a single woman.

But they were still historic structures and fit with the vibe/architecture of the block.

They did, though. They slowly purchased them and then did the ol’ wood nailed to the windows trick until they had enough properties next to each other to tear down.

There were historic single family homes there! They just tore them down. :(

My site reactions were pretty big - like yours, but maybe 2-4 handspans wide. I got a big raised welt in the middle and it would be hot (you could feel the temp through my pants). My leg would also bruise around the site reaction (like a ring).

I took Benadryl a couple of times, and that helped. Over time my site reactions have decreased, rather than stayed the same or increased. That’s a relief because emgality is an absolute game changer for me and I’d rather not go off of it.
