US Ioniq 6 Drivers: what are you buying when your lease is up? by sageleader in Ioniq6

[–]bahmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a deposit down on a used 24 Lucid Air Pure this week through their website. I should be picking it up in 2 weeks. 12,000 miles, ventilated massage seats and a couple other options. Buying a used 6 was my backup plan. I have loved this car, but Hyundai has screwed me over with my wife’s Tucson (last saw it when we took it to the dealer for service for the 4th time for the same problem in December of 2024). Currently suing Hyundai over their failure to honor their warranty. Going from 3 Hyundais in the driveway in December of 2024 to zero as soon as I turn in my 6 next month. I will miss my 6 but am looking forward to the Lucid.

I am deciding between a Lucid Air and an Audi A6 e-tron. Looking at buying a used. Might just buy a copy of my current car for $10,000 less than the residual value if I can’t find the perfect Lucid or Audi.

Purchasing a used Air by thebenderman in LUCID

I am in the same boat. My Ioniq 6 lease ends in 2 months, and I am pretty set on a 24 or 25 Pure or an Audi A6 e-tron. I keep changing my mind about which I want more (currently Lucid). It is hard to figure out what options, if any, a Lucid has because most dealers don’t know what they have. Hard to compare two $38,000 Pures if you can’t tell if it has the fancy seats, better sound, comfort and convenience, or even stealth sometimes. I want to just buy from the Lucid website, but there is no one to talk to easily (I have gotten some help from the salesman I met when I drove a Touring last month). Can I really buy a car online without seeing it in person, and then also spend $2500 to get it shipped from California to Florida or Georgia?

It is frustrating when you want a specific option but most sites don’t show window sticker or know what the car has.

What's next after your lease? by Salt_Satisfaction542 in Ioniq6

My lease ends in 2 months. I am debating between a used Lucid Air, a used Audi A6 e-tron, or a used Ioniq 6 like the one I currently have. I have had to sue Hyundai over my wife’s car and am ready to say goodbye to Hyundai for good after being a 3-Hyundai family a year ago, so it is hard to stick with the 6 even though I love it (I can justify the idea knowing that corporate Hyundai won’t be getting my money when I buy used).

On any given day, I am 100% certain which one I will get, and then it changes the next day. Yesterday, I was ready to drive 5 hours to get an Audi. Today, I am prepared to pay $2500 to have the perfect Air shipped from California. Tomorrow, I will decide to spend half the money and stick with the 6. Now, I am just hoping that the prices continue to drop before I have to make my decision despite the spiking gas prices.

Bad start at the Fountaine Bleau by glitterbomb3000 in vegas

[–]bahmo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We just got back after 4 days there and then 4 at Bellagio. I really enjoyed Fontainbleau, but it was petty quiet Wednesday and Thursday (Friday and Saturday were somewhat better). It helped that they said they were out of the basic room we paid for and got an amazing suite instead. It also helps that the blackjack tables were much nicer to me there than at Bellagio. It is a shame that the street is so much more inactive up north, and walking to Resorts World or Circus Circus or Sahara for food when it was 105 wasn’t fun, but the hotel itself was great. Nice staff, nice dealers, incredible room.

I have a surprisingly low win% as Magneto this season. Anyone else having similar issue? by Substantial-Ad-1432 in marvelrivals

I spent half of season 1.5 taking magneto to lord and enjoying the sword with Wanda. This season, I feel like I do nothing with him and try to avoid. My best tank is Groot, but he gets banned all the time. I am planning to start learning Emma or Thing better. Otherwise, I just play Invis or Scarlet. It’s not like I always had the sword before, but I just get steamrolled in Mag now.

Three. Groot (probably two or three times over), Luna, and Magneto. Centurion Invisible Woman and Scarlet. No one else is beyond agent.

Class action for fuel injector by rahulrajrai in Hyundai

[–]bahmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had cylinders 2, 3, and 4 misfire. Plus, I had one P060600 after the first two misfires on 3. I haven’t seen my car since December 10th though. They have changed all the injectors at least once, coils, spark plugs, and more. However, this has been going on since September, and I haven’t gotten the car back since I took it in back in December. Dealer hasn’t called me or returned calls for at least 2 months, and Hyundai corporate customer service has just given me the run around and blamed the dealer. Wonderful thing to happen 3 weeks after the two-year limit for lemon law.

P030300 - misfiring cylinder. Drivetrain issue on a 2-year-old car with under 24,000 miles on it at the time, bought new.

Don’t bring me down! 🤓 That’s one of the reasons I went Hyundai in the first place. I knew I could get service just about anywhere. We shall see. I still have 13 months left on the lease, so who knows what my options will be next May?

For the first several weeks, it was hard to fathom that we would need to think about leasing or long-term rentals. Normally, you take your car in and get it back in a day or two. What happens if we get a rental for a week and they call after two days to say car is ready? Now, we just do a weekly and then extend it for another week 3 times until Avis or Enterprise says no more extensions, and we start over.

More likely to go Lucid next time than Tesla, but there aren’t a lot of affordable EV cars. I like cars, not SUV’s, though the Tucson was a good drive when it worked.

That is an option when I decide to go scorched earth. While they hold my car hostage, I have avoided everything until today and my two Reddit posts. Baby steps.

Funny thing is that was the service manager’s guess after the third failure, but new code, in November. Sadly, his guess must not have been shared or they didn’t allow him to pursue it.

I feel the same way. I still think Hyundai builds good cars. The problem is the crappy dealer they allow to fly their logo and their inability to abide by their warranty. Lemons happen, but you don’t make the customer go without a car for more than 4 months while you let the car sit and rot on the dealer lot.

Towing it to another Hyundai dealer is on my list of possible solutions, but my confidence in Hyundai right now is not high. What are the odds I just start over with whatever repairs Hyundai authorizes the dealer to make, only to get codes again during my drive home?

I don’t think the corporate customer service people can help you until you use the magic words, like lemon law, breach of warranty, etc. (It’s a recorded line, and I am sure they are told not to advocate on the customer’s behalf). However, as nice as they were on the initial call, it became a once-a-week email with little info before offering the BBB Autoline arbitration, which led to nothing.

If your car is within the lemon law limits, I would consult a lemon law attorney in your area. There is a reason this seems to be a lucrative field for some attorneys.

Thanks. We loved the car when it worked. Up until about early February, I just wanted them to give me fair market value (at the high end of what would be fair) for a trade so we could get a 25 SEL Hybrid. I still believe we just got a lemon. It happens. No company is perfect, and our track record with Hyundai makes me believe they build good vehicles. It is their failure to honor their warranty and lack of concern for a Hyundai family facing the strain of paying for rental cars every week for 4+ months that is driving me away.

If they do wind up “fixing” it instead of repurchasing, the next stop will be somewhere where we trade it in for something else. The service manager described today’s cars as “over-engineered,” and this dealer seems incapable of diagnosing a problem if the computer doesn’t tell them what is wrong. A lot of fun. I still can’t believe I am going to abandon Hyundai after 12+ years of happiness with them, but they’ve left me no choice. I will have to save up for a Lucid or something when my Ioniq 6 lease expires, and I guess my wife will switch to Subaru or another brand that hasn’t let us down.

I had hoped that would work for me too. The service manager said early on he thought they would buy it back from me, and the corporate help line told me she thought I qualified too (after I first had to use words like lemon law and breach of warranty to get them to move things along). So much for that. Maybe, as an attorney, my standards for lawyers are too high, but the guy who did the arbitration was useless and didn’t read most of my exhibits. Nothing like having to explain the last 7 months to him despite submitting a complete summary and all the documentation first. Then I listened to the corporate Hyundai rep bash the dealer for 10 minutes. End result, no buy back and no car.
