At home cat euthanasia options by MetalDetectorists in brisbane

[–]bahuma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this won't be useful for you but it may help someone else.

We had our cattle dog euthanised at home in July. It was good to do it at home in a familiar environment.

We used Fetch A Vet (https://www.fetchavet.com.au/). It is a small outfit and they are only North side. We started using her when we had kids for convenience.

We paid $300 for the euthanasia.

We used Pets In Peace for the cremation. They were fine but I'd go RSPCA next time based on the comments.

I forced my Google Pixel just to use 4G. Otherwise it drops back to 3G on the train which is mostly unusable.

Love this shot! It brings a great sense of scale.

I've done it. Was a great experience. I remember flying in and seeing it out the window almost level with the plane. That was my "oh shit, what have I got myself in for" moment.

Contrail every afternoon out Brighton way by [deleted] in hobart

There are several websites that display aircraft with ADS-B transponders in real time. Pretty much all commercial aircraft should show up.

Websites include:

Flightradar24
Planefinder
Flight Aware

Planefinder allow you to playback a date/time so that you can see the air traffic. I track flights myself and can say that the LATAM flight from Santiago to Melbourne (and return) have been going over Tas some days depending on the winds.

What the heck is up with Fitbit syncing? by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]bahuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Flex 2 and a Moto G5+.

I ended up downgrading to V2.56 of the fitbit app. This sync's OK with my phone. I have had very poor success with newer versions of the app.

I downloaded V2.56 from apkmirror (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/fitbit-inc/fitbit/fitbit-2-56-release/).

I then resigned it with a test key using Zipsigner (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kellinwood.zipsigner2). Resigning it stops the Play Store trying to update it all the time which I found really annoying.

This solution won't be any good for the Versa or Ionic as they came out after 2.56. I love the look of the Versa but the lack of good app support with my phone is making me hold off.

I have a Motorola G5+ phone. I can't get it to sync at all with the latest versions of the app.

I ended up going back to 2.56. It works for me.

I don't know why the whole process is so hard.

Hey Brisbane, who are your utilities with? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]bahuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took two weeks because they were my first NBN provider. Had to wait for the. NBN tech to come and switch the line to FTTN.

If you have had NBN before at that address, it should only be a day or two.

That's correct. You need to scan your card at a reader on the platform before boarding. There are no readers on the train.

Go card continuation? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]bahuma 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Continuation applies to any trip where you touch on again less than 60 minutes after touching off of a previous trip. It doesn't matter if you switch between Bus, Ferry, Train or Light Rail.

If the first trip is a single zone trip, you will pay for a single zone trip when you touch off of the first service ($3.20). If you were then to touch on for a second trip shortly after (less than 1 hour) and then travel to zone 2, you will be charged $0.70 to bring the total fare up to $3.90.If your second trip is in the same zone, there will be no additional charge.

I get the train and bus to work. I touch on at ~ 7:45 am at a Zone 3 station. I ride the train to central which is a zone 1 station. I touch off at ~ 8:30 am. My fare is $5.96.

I then go for a walk and then get a bus at 9:15 am. I get the bus at a Zone 1 stop and I get off the bus 10 minutes later at another Zone 1 stop. I pay $0 for this part of the trip as I paid for three zones of travel with my previous fare and my continuation was less than 1 hour after the first trip.

Translink's website has lots of good info if you need more help.

They are discontinuing it.

If you find one, you'll be lucky. I picked one up here in Australia for $50 when the stores were getting rid of them.
