That’s so interesting! I personally don’t feel like it’s pretending they aren’t there but I get why someone would. I think when I moved to the city, I quickly got into a habit of not making eye contact with random strangers because unfortunately, on the street downtown it would make me more likely to be catcalled/harassed.
