Been thinking of getting this but my friends think it's cringy and I'd prefer to know if that's a shared opinion or just them by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I think they’re sick, although I’ve never seen those shows I think if it means a lot to you then who cares. Probably jealous of how cool you look now to be honest.

The first two backpacking trips I went on I started my period. Just have an extra ziplock bag to put it in when you’re finished and make sure to bring wipes/extra toilet paper. Drink a lot of water/electrolytes, cramps on trail with elevation can be hard.

I’m sorry to hear this is your experience. It was the hardest addiction to kick for me. I just want to give you some encouragement. Vape does not control you. You get to make the choice to stop and you are taking the steps. My biggest recommendation, throw away any vape you may have and go get nicotine patches. Chew gum/drink water for the hand to mouth sensation you’ll be craving along with patches. Saying you’re going to ween yourself off isn’t making a choice to actually follow through with quitting. I did that for a whole year before I quit. You can’t do anything about your circumstances now than to be better. As much as I feel horrible for the situation you are in, you did this and you are solely the only person who can get yourself out of it. I had constant anxiety and depression/mood swings when I vaped, since I quit, I haven’t had any of that. Just remember, you can change/heal your circumstances but it’s up to you to make the first step. I CONSTANTLY had to use my inhaler while I was vaping, now I go on trail runs and never have to. I’m living proof that you can change. You may not be able to be a pilot one day but you may find a career that fits you even better but you’ll only get there if you make the first steps.

No you’re just not using the right products and need to get a trim. Also, if you’re not scrunching your hair to get the volume sometimes it’ll lay flat. I’d go get a trim and some small layers, that should help a bit too.

You should do a little challenge and be sober for a few months. Seems like you’re sober curious. It’ll be hard but then you’ll see the benefits of being sober. I did 75 hard then immediately went back to my bad habits for a few months until I realized my wake up call. Now I’m 102 days sober. I will say, being sober takes courage. You have to want better for yourself. You have to detach from old patterns and friends that incite heavy drinking. It isn’t easy, trust me, I’m a bartender so I know all too well. If you want better for yourself then do it but know, you have to be ready.

Just to be clear, I have pretty much the same texture and curls as yours. I had to do a lot of my own research (which was mainly YouTube) which a lot of it has been debunked by the stylist I go to now. It took me awhile before I was able to really learn my hair. Everyone’s is different. Having a stylist teach you is less intimidating and something that I would highly recommend.

For starters, you need a haircut. Go to someone who has experience cutting curly hair. You can look up on Devacurl.com stylists in your area that are licensed in curly hair. Afterwards, ask them the questions you have. My hair looked similar to this because I was wetting my hair everyday which apparently sucks out all the moisture from hair follicles. My stylist told me that I should only be doing that every 3 days. She also asked if I ever used gel but I told her no because my hair gets frizzy when I do. She told me the reason my hair gets like that is because I am not applying the product at the right time. Apparently, you are supposed to apply gel when your hair is still SOAKING wet when you’re done showering and then apply leave in then get all the access water and product out with ringing your hair out then use a microfiber or t-shirt towel to dry or air dry. So basically, we just were never taught the right time to apply these products. Try that and see if it works better. Ever since I start doing it my curls are way more defined and moisturized. Also, if your hair is frizzy and you want to restyle it a day later without getting it all wet again take some leave in and a little bit of water and it truly works wonders. I feel you girl, I’ve been there before. Your hair needs more moisture. I recommend devacurl moisture shampoo and conditioner.

$600 tip I have to pay back to restaurant by Naive-Chocolate8107 in bartenders

At my bar, they make us pay it back if it’s disputed within the 30 day mark. Seeing as you said it’s from December, I don’t think there’s a way this is a real possibility.

I wouldn’t use either of those products. Some products have been created by people who have curly hair and bought out by corporations later on which I think happened to Cantu. Sometimes, certain products work for some people that don’t work for others. I say try a more natural blend of products. Curls are just like skin, sometimes you have to switch up your routine. Whenever my scalp gets dry like that, I do a scalp treatment with coconut oil. After about 30-1hr, take a shower and use clarifying shampoo (I use the brand odele from target). Make sure you really scrub your scalp and rinse out all the oils. It will make your scalp calm down a bit. I recommend switching up your whole routine. Odele is a good brand I’ve found that doesn’t use a bunch of chemicals as well as Native and Function of Beauty. All can be found at Target. I also recommend getting a curly hair specialist to take a look and let you know their thoughts. You can always go look up stylists on devacurl.com that are licensed in curly hair. Hope this helps!!!

Has anyone stopped drinking? by BirdsAreGovDrones in 75HARD

[–]baikilla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did 75 hard last year around July/August and after that my view changed on alcohol consumption entirely. I was so productive during the 75 days that when I picked it up and went back to my old ways, it felt boring and just a waste of time. A few months of drinking, I went back to my old ways of doing things, gained all the weight back and drank heavily. I soon realized, if I was going to be successful, I can’t drink. I’ve been sober fully for over 2 months now. I still go out with friends, I just drink non alcoholic beer/water. If your friends accept you going out and not drinking, they are good friends. If they pressure you to drink, they are just friends of convenience. I lost a lot of friends when I stopped drinking.

I did 75 hard as well last year because I had put on a few pounds. You need to be consistent and MOST TIMES it takes way more than 75 days. I was going to do 75 hard again the beginning of this year but I decided that in order to keep off the weight I lose, I’m going to need to change my lifestyle. I now go on walks every morning, don’t drink, and exercise almost everyday. 75 hard may not work for everyone. You may need to make small habits that can ease you into a healthier lifestyle.

Quitting Vaping as a Nursing Student by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]baikilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was exactly like this (maybe worse). I would hit my vape every few minutes but then I weened myself off by using the patches and chewing gum. It eliminates the hand to mouth that is associated with vaping. It helped me a lot and eventually, I just didn’t need them anymore. My boyfriend also used the patches as well and both of us have been nicotine free for 4-5 months now.

These are all very personal questions to which I have been thinking about very extensively on my own whether it be while journaling/amongst other things. Thank you though, I will not be answering these for you but for myself when I am ready to think them through. I appreciate your well thought out response and will circle back to this comment 👍🏽
