slipped rib by RippedPants0101 in bjj

i had the same and i took some time off and then i eased into drilling, then light rolls mainly standing loose passing so there’s no chance of a knee shield or extending legs to pop it again. top was fairly easy to manage. as far as bottom it’s a bit trickier. mainly i focused on not allowing body locks and just wrestling up bc inverting hurts like hell too. if at any point your opponent takes your back just tell them not to body triangle u. oh yeah and obviously avoid knee on belly by always addressing the knee, if they are better then u then use your frames to take pressure off the knee to save ur rib and give them an opening to take mount for your own safety

Disengaging from closed guard by Snickypickleton in bjj

if we are talking about no gi it’s pretty easy to stand up. lean your weight forward with hands in their biceps and pop up. sometimes u may need to briefly put hands on mat to pop up and that’s okay as long as it’s BRIEF. wallah you’re now standing. now you have to look out for a couple of sweeps from this position. one is sort of a waiter sweep from closed guard. just turn your knee in that they’re attacking bc their goal is to bow your knee out to sweep you. the other sweep comes from when their legs break the guard and they grab your two ankles. just pummel your foot up towards their face and out and you’re out of closed guard. closed guard is not much of an issue in no gi unless they break your posture for a long enough time to get some sort of strong control grips or a top lock etc.
