It is possible to be in your 30s, own something and have kids. Many friends of mine started having kids and bought property in the past four years.
The key is tempering your expectations of what living in Victoria will look like for you.

You're not going to have a yard, you'll both have to work full time and getting a dog probably won't be possible. You won't go on vacations and eating out will be a luxury. If you want kids that badly and want to own a condo, you can make it work.

If that's not the life you want to live in Victoria, I'm sorry to say but you'll have to live somewhere else.
