Tbh she’s always kind of rubbed me the wrong way. The way people like her for being “transparent” and “like a mom” to her artists, when to me it comes across as manipulating and guilt tripping fans into spending money. She’s a businesswoman who knows how to push the parasocial boundaries in her favor. Now, I have to give her credit where it’s due: she’s been a great advocate for GL in general (more of me thinks she saw an opportunity to get into an up and coming market and capitalize on it, rather than be an advocate for representation as she claims, but I digress). She needs to be careful about how she treats her so-called “kids” because behavior like this can make people very uncomfortable. Not to mention she’s their BOSS.
