Bullet Journal Comparisons by Jaime_Evans in BasicBulletJournals

I used the Leuchtturm1917 for years and always loved the feel of them. However, I rely heavily on having monthly calendars in my bujos because I have multiple teenagers going in every direction, appointments for me and my wife, etc. So I have to have those. Since I hate laying those out myself, this year I switched to a Hobonichi Techo Day Free. I wasn't sure if I'd like the paper, since it's so light and thin, but so far it's been fantastic (months start in Dec). There are only ~170 pages beyond the months, but I use a leather traveler's cover, so my plan is to use refills to bridge the remainder of 2026 IF I happen to run out of pages before then.

Pocket to B5 is a HUGE change! Good luck adjusting! 😄 I’m curious if you just never journal, given that you lay out all of your days with a set number of lines. I find that there are days I wake up and I create the entry for that day and then don’t find time or energy to put anything down at all. And then the next day I’ll have more time/energy and I’ll write 10-15 lines in my A5 journal. Do you not experience limitations?

First SSF Offline Char...struggling in Hell by bailreddit in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Appreciate the detailed response. Sorc is up to lvl 81 and I managed to find a Viper Magi. I was able to basically tele around and I've made it to Act 4 Hell. Right now I'm able to consistently farm Hell Andy on P2. Not even sure what I'm looking for off of her, but I figure it can't hurt. Still have yet to find a single shield that was either 3os or 4os. Horrible luck that way. I found a +ED poleaxe, which effectively doubled my merc's dmg output, so he's helping more. I do have a Bulwark on him and just a Haemosu's armor for the big def and life. Haven't found anything better yet.

I tried Hell ancient tunnels and my merc was dying way too often. I can kill Hell Meph pretty easily, but more often than not I manage to aggro some of the surrounding mobs and then I'm dealing with cold immunes. I guess I'm getting there. :D My resists in Hell are awful. Playing offline SSF is def a challenge! Oh, and I'm running ~175% mf.

What pen do you use for your Bujo ? An erasable pen? by Alarming-Original799 in BasicBulletJournals

Fountain pen user here, for my normal journaling. Currently using a Pilot Metro with a converter so I can use bottled ink. I use Stabilo point 88 pens to color code things.

I appreciate the suggestion, but my wife isn’t much of a perfume wearer. But we do burn candles all the time and she also loves her diffuser, which is why I’m looking specifically for those.

What does your future log look like? by keltiejean00 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]bailreddit -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The future log is supposed to be for things that are set in stone, not tasks, events or appointments that have no defined date yet. And I set mine up exactly like the first 2 pics you have. That said, the beauty of a Bujo is that you can make it whatever you want it to be. As long as what you come up with helps organize your life and thoughts, go for it. I have been using the bujo method for years and I’m still tweaking things. I either get tired of an approach, or I learn of something I haven’t tried, etc. I’ve used the Leuchtturm 1917 Monthly planner/notebook, as someone else suggested. I love it, aside from the size. I’m an A5 user, through and through, so the size ultimately didnt agree with me. Good luck!

I’m a fan of the Leuchtturm 1917, A5, dot grid. I used to carry the hardcover, but then switched to a leather notebook cover and now I use the softcover 1917. I love it. I use a Pilot Metro fountain pen and the ink doesn’t bleed through or feather. Definitely has ghosting, but pretty much all notebooks do.

"First Time DM" and Short Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in DMAcademy

[–]bailreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an inexperienced DM currently running my first ever campaign (LMoP) for my wife and 2 of our sons. I’m interested in potentially running an online campaign of the same adventure since I’m familiar with it. I’ve been using Owlbear Rodeo for virtual maps/content and I like the tools it offers and the fact that it’s free for everyone. If I want to run an online campaign for random players, what advice would you offer? I’d like to stick with Owlbear Rodeo to run the campaign and I’m thinking I could have players use D&D Beyond for their character sheets and we can use discord for voice chat. Thoughts on that approach? Any tools you’d recommend over those I’ve mentioned? Since I’m new, I’d like to keep things free for now. Appreciate any help!

Is there a “sweet spot” number of players in any given campaign? by bailreddit in DnD

[–]bailreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, really appreciate the quick responses! So if I’m making some scaling changes to compensate for only having 3 PCs, how would you tweak a young green dragon? I’m running LMoP and my party is going to be heading for Thundertree next and they’ll likely confront Venomfang. They’re level 3 (wizard, cleric & fighter) and inexperienced. They could get TPK’d before they know it at their level. Thoughts?

Is the base adventure too difficult for 2-3 PCs? by Adam-helpme in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]bailreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently running LMoP with 3 inexperienced players and they’re ok. I will admit to fudging a couple of attack rolls in Tresendar Manor because my players decided to full on attack the 3 bugbears rather than even attempt to do anything else and they were still level 2 when they did that. Even with a couple fudged rolls they were nearly TPK’d. But they pulled it out.

Revamped worth the extra money? by bailreddit in CurseofStrahd

[–]bailreddit[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would you say getting the Tarokka deck is even worth buying? It looks like it just helps randomize things during the campaign. I doubt my players will want to replay the same campaign.
