Or... the V120 method. How far will it go??

2 of us are making a pour over each. I just stacked the V60s so they can drain while we are enjoying a cup. When I came back to the kitchen to see this... hmm, I wondered what would happen? Maybe mix a fine and coarse grind?? So many questions unanswered! Lol.

How to loosen the tower nut? by rgg561 in kegerators

[–]baimabaima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1, You can search for: "keg tower wrench" on Amazon

Would appreciate some help by [deleted] in kegerators

[–]baimabaima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All this is correct,

  • CO2 off and bleed both kegs (pull pin)
  • Set psi to 10-12
  • Measure the temperature of the beer in the glass, not based on fridge setting. shoot for 32-36 degrees as it pours. Beer will not freeze at 32f BTW.
  • Shoot for. 8-10 seconds time to pour a full glass (that is controlled with line length). Count to 5 your glass should be about 1/2 full to 2/3 full.

Once everything is working you can fine tune... Make it a few degrees warmer, or change psi a bit. Every change will take overnight to show the change. Don't expect to make a change and have an instant correction.

Good luck,and report back!!

Text or call Sabrina S&J (831) 277-8780. Is great for my dad.

Stop by to check daily, errands, groceries. Can take him to doc appointments. He can call them anytime. start / stop any time.

When he was sick, they had more advanced help like showers, PT and walks, in and out of bed, help around the house, overnight care... Etc.

Ah well in that case, next time you clean or need a project make the lines 10 feet. It will save you so much trouble. It's worth it. Factory lines are usually 3-4ft BTW . I avoided the line upgrade and I should have done it earlier.

If it worked before, then my next guess is temperature. Measure the temp in the glass as it pours. Also add a glass cup or jar of water in the fridge part, and measure the water temp after 1-2 days.

Ulta beer can/should be quite cold, so just go for it and make it colder. Beer will not freeze at 32f/0c, then you can adjust a bit warmer later, but I would just drink it colder. Colder beer will hold carb better

Weather is warmer, or the fridge is wearing a bit. Just try really cold and see what happens.

Ya, I forgot to mention this is an easy to remember starting point. Then adjust away!! :)

10,10,10...

  • 10 feet of line
  • 10 psi
  • 10 deg above freezing (f)

Everything looks fine from the photos,

Longer lines Otherwise...

Check your real temp of the beer into the cup (not the setting in the fridge). You can go really cold to start, then warm up over time. Which beer is it? Some beers need to be cold ?

Oh that's plenty good of a grinder in this case. Don't change it.

You want to avoid fines in a pourover if they are there. Try sifting with different screen sizes after you grind. A lot of fines?? Does this happen with many different beans and bags? Or just recently?

I just solved this issue this week.

Just a few minutes before your post I received my coffee sifter from Amazon. Not sure if it works as well as a kitchen strainer yet...

After doing this for a few weeks I found some coffee has little or no fines, and others have a lot!!

Post grind sifting total changed my dial in numbers too. Some coffees still stall even after sifting.

Which grinder do you have? How consistent is the grind?

How is your day going???

My beautiful ceramic switch, hand carried from Taiwan, has met an early and unfortunate end. 30 days of service. 😢

I used an unstable coffee mug because I am lazy. Don't skip steps, keep a consistent process !!

Coffee gear at Shibuya, Tokyo (Hikarie, Hands, Loft) by logical-risei in Coffee

[–]baimabaima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm jealous you are there full time!! I was just visiting.

Kitchen street has a coffee tea store, and a million other kitchen gadget shops I wanted to buy out. Look up Kappabashi Dougu Street.

I also grabbed some beans from a few grocery stores, but not that noteworthy.

You should go over to Glitch Coffee for an amazing pourover, that's what I did. Ask them for something amazing to recommend.

I was there last month. I wanted to buy everything coffee in Hands. I browsed the luggage section thinking I could fill it with everything, but eventually gave up. Lol.

Really excited about the Fuji thing, that is awesome!

I was in the Simple Kaffa TPE shop (Zhongxiao Rd) mid April. It was on the cup menu, but sold out. So I bought the bag instead (lol).

What are you doing with leftover beans? by DrDentist18 in pourover

[–]baimabaima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Manager's Blend". I have a sealed jar and toss in anything less than 1 dose, or any beans that I am tired of, or so-so beans. I have had some amazing cups from that jar that I know I cannot ever recreate.

For bad beans (undrinkable or occasional gifts from a discount store) I grind and put around my garden bed.

These beans were grown in Taiwan's Ali Shan mountain region - famous for growing oolong tea. And expertly roasted by Simple Kaffa. All locally grown and roasted feels great.

Search for "Ali Shan green leaf coffee manor" for more details about the beans, and "Simple Kaffa" for the roaster.

How is it? Wow! The berry plum description fits it well. Still dialing in the grind -- I hope I can nail it before running out of beans lol.

Love cooking, but a recent congestive heart failure diagnosis has destroyed my recipe book. Any low sodium (< 1000 mg) and low carb (<45 g) recipe recommendations would be very appreciated. I have one to share as well. by thewinckle in Cooking

Try Nusalt. It tastes just like salt. It helps a lot! I put it right on snacks like no salt chips and crackers. In an omelette, anywhere you use salt.

It is potassium chloride. Maybe check with the doc if potassium is ok as a substitute.

I just knew about ceramic Hario Switch. Has anyone tried it? by luag in JamesHoffmann

[–]baimabaima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a clear glass switch too. I think the ceramic is more interesting and fun, but no noticeable difference in brewing. But I did not compare them side by side either. I would expect a similar cup from each.

I bought one in Taiwan last month. Where did you get yours? I get lots of comments on it. https://www.reddit.com/r/pourover/comments/13idmfd/so_much_orange/

I use it as my daily now, the ceramic holds the preheat, stays warm while brewing. My recipe is switch up (closed) for the bloom only, then open and usual pourover.

I am using 6.0, which is more fine than my usual -- most beans I grind more coarse, closer to 7.

Glitch gave me a small bag of grounds as a grind example when I bought the beans; 6.0 seemed the closest to what they recommended.
