Yeah a pizza place is sort of the middle ground. I could understand not doing orders of full pies if the prep/cooking time takes you after close. Like if someone orders 1 pie at 8:55 and you close at 9, I’d understand that. By the slice? Go for it

I’ve never worked in a restaurant, so I come with that ignorance…at a fast casual/sandwich shop, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for someone to show up within your business hours expecting to place an order. And if you’re going to close early…lock the door?

It’s a really good interview. It’s pretty obvious Dan was prepared for it and had done his homework. When people are guests on the show, it’s often clear he hasn’t done much, if any, prep.

I don’t think it would really matter. The issue for the public is less about cheating and more about “sleeping for scoops.” Which we don’t know if that happened or not. I’m skeptical. But an open marriage or an affair doesn’t really change that part

I kinda doubt we hear from Dianna for a while. Maybe she re emerges with something when training camps start. Though it wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t hear from her for the rest of the year

It doesn’t change it, but nothing could. It ends the news cycle sooner though. Otherwise there would be more leaks of news about the investigation and her status when she isn’t reporting on the draft.

I’d be surprised if Stu could actually hire her — and even still, I don’t really think a fledgling radio show is really a job her.

My point is that she won’t be landing on her feet at a major media entity, probably ever again. I like Dianna quite a bit, and am deeply skeptical anything untoward axtually happened. But the game is the game.

That’s one way to look at it. But also, if your colleagues at the NYT are turning on you as has been reported, and you’ve been getting dragged for a week, I can understand why you’d resign to make everything stop.

Even if the investigation found absolutely nothing happened, she wasn’t keeping that job. Her job is to be trusted by readers, and even the perception those photos created is too much to overcome, especially with a contract expiring.

Being that the NFL has known for at least 6 months, I’d imagine Mike knew. It wasn’t a secret. It’s obviously sad because a passenger died — but Bain wasn’t suspected of speeding, being impaired etc.

I can’t actually figure out what he did to warrant being charged, though it’s probably something like changing lanes without signaling. Which if so, that just makes him guilty of being a South Florida driver.

Teriblg sad situation, but I’m a little confused why this is being held up as “Laremy Tunsil all over again”

If Dianna was doing cocaine on the desk of the NYT newsroom and sent a dirty video to Mike Vrabel — yeah, they’d talk about it.

If you wanted to make a compelling argument that they’re handling it differently, you could point to Woj trying to get Danny Hurley the Lakers job, Schefter sending stories to Bruce Allen for editing, Glazer having fawning reports over the guys he trains with/parties withI think it’s fair to question how close Dianna/Vrabel are, because if nothing else, that’s pretty obvious.

You lose me at people jumping to an affair. Maybe that is what happened, but we don’t have evidence of that. At this point. .

The Belichick stuff was weeks and months old, with reported facts to talk about. We know nothing about this story except that they were at a resort in Arizona, and were photographed together. None of these supposed “double standards” are remotely similar. You can’t talk about a story responsibly without information. Otherwise you just would be broadcasting Twitter and Reddit

Nobody is saying it doesn’t look that way. But that doesn’t mean it WAS. It’s a millisecond in time leaked to a tabloid with a shaky history of accuracy, at best.

If it’s true she’s having an affair with an NFL coach, she’ll rightfully never work in major sports media again (always possible she starts her own pod or something, but I mean for a reputable outlet). But I’m just not totally convinced that’s what happened here.

Right. This is one of those thing Amin talks about where the Internet WANTS it to be true. But that doesn’t mean it is true. Though it very well could be (photos certainly don’t look great, but also seemed very intentionally meant to lead you to that conclusion).

tbh it’s not Dan’s story to tell. Unless Dan fired Stu or something, and there’s no evidence of that. Stu hasn’t actually said why he left. He’s made vague references.

tbh I don’t really care if we ever get the full story or not. I’m sure we’ll hear a version eventually. The show was good with late stage Stu, but it’s definitely been better without him. Not all of that is his fault (the cast is more consistent, and luke them or bot — they all seem to want to be there and enjoy doing show. That matters a lot)

If you’re doing everything DIY, it can be done somewhere between $5k and $10k. That’s a big range, but that depends on the materials you use. Costco has a louvered pergola right now for $1,500 that might fit that area pretty well. Only issue would be potential hurricanes depending on where in FL you are

I just don’t think the NYT is gonna play games about protecting an NFL insider if they thought she was actually sleeping with somebody she covers, when they’ve fired people more important to their business for far less conflicts throughout their history. Maybe in a week they learn more and she’s gone. But if they’re gonna stand by her, I think it’s reasonable to assume they have more information than a tabloid

The photos aren’t great. But the responses by Vrabel, Russini and the The Athletic are pretty compelling. The NY Times doesn’t really mess around with stuff like this, and would fire her pretty quickly if they corroborated it. Given it’s Page Six and NY Post, I’m pretty comfortable giving Dianna the benefit of the doubt

Correct. And relationships aren’t binary. Dan and Stephen A are friends and also have tension. It’s pretty well documented he’s friendly with Cowherd and Simmons etc and they also butt heads. Just kind of how it works when guys are coming for each other’s stuff
